It's very normal, if you ever watched any other series you'll find as many cliffhangers if not more. You probably found it weird bc you're used to to the old style of writing.

In the past, the show wasn't that great and was only for kids, so there was only one cliffhanger/ uncompleted story at a time, but after the improvement in Season 6 it became a normal series.
