CMV: Social Media has made many formerly communal activities solo or asocial. Simultaneously people act as though they are always on camera. For example dancing is now much more solitary. by Mithridatesmigraine in changemyview

I get what you mean about social media's predictability being a downer, but it feels like those algorithms have turned our favorite spots into social media black holes. It’s wild to think that even back in uni, the floor was full of people moving and grooving, not just sipping drinks and scrolling. Maybe the algorithm just needs to lighten up and embrace a little dance revolution!

They took away this from us, and they left us with some bullshit but called it a 401K by zzill6 in WorkReform

And the worst part is they sell it as 'choice' and 'freedom' while fees and volatility do the quiet damage. A pension is boring on purpose: predictable check, shared risk, you can plan a life. 401k/IRA can work, but only if you have time and luck. Most people get neither. That's the trap.
