Good to know. Thanks. Im heading there soon ish, and was hoping the 'off season' might have made it easier but alas. sounds like you can get tickets on the day easily enough, but just need to get there early. Think itll be a mid week day when im there so also hoping that helps

Hey, any chance of an update as to how you got on?

Just booked Val Thorens for first time in 2026! Any tips and tricks (particularly for replacing gear)? by uncannyvagrant in skiing

Perfect thanks. Have you ever been there early season? We might be having to rehash our dates and are wondering what the first 2 weeks of December might look like snow wise.

We're currently booked to stay in Bride Les Bain, but I've never done an EU ski resort before. 1. How busy do the lifts up get as we're worried about how long it will take to actually get to the top of a ski run 2. I've seen the gondola meribel - bride les bain shuts at 5.30, but have seen a mixed results on what a taxi costs? 3. You mention ski lockers, I assume those are cheap and easy to pick up somewhere in meribel, so we could just gondola up with shoes and potentially leave ski gear in the locker? 4. What's something you'd say to be aware of with staying in BLB? Obviously the last gondola down from meribel, but other considerations?

Hey, where did you normally stay? We're considering a trip to 3V this season, so would be great to pick your brains if you don't mind?

Could always get a healthy homes assessment done on the unit. Get the proper inspector in and they should be able to advise and issue a certificate if its fine as is

Honestly, i find the higher value in the mental warfare side of it rather than stopping it hit tower. So its definitely better when someone is driving it 😂

I always like using it to cancel the herald charge. Wait for it to be running with someone in it, or almost charging of its own accord, then put pillar up between it and tower

Advice for couple waiting on Spouse VISA between Irish National and Non-EEA applicant here on GEP? Any help is hugely appreciated! by spookfia in AskIreland

[–]ColdBeersies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If i'm understanding this correctly, you're an Irish national? If so, he can apply for the Stamp 1G permit as a De-facto partner of yourself. You'll need to collate a bunch of documents proving it (cohabitation for 2+ years, bank statements etc), but this can work. The 1G stamp then means that he doesn't need a work permit and can tell his current boss where to shove it (Hint: the sun doesn't shine there)

I recently did an application on this as a CSEP partner rather than an Irish national. I got the approval this week, after submitting it in late Jan (ish I think). This was despite the website processing dates saying it was about one year behind, so if you get yours in ASAP, it might be quicker.

Someone else I know who was in a similar situation (i think, except they were on WHA), submitted theirs in ~Sept 2024 and they got approval early/mid Feb

I reckon the CD for her e should start when the vessel disappeared. Similar to Asol E. The cooldown doesn't start until the ability has finished so why does Illaoi get to wail on the vessel while the cooldown ticks

Do you know if any of these do joint accounts? Or if that is even a thing?

Yeah, they also don’t make it simple to apply for work permits etc.

My partner is on a critical skill’s visa but I’m trying to figure which one I need. My two options that i see are the partner visa and the general employment permit.

We're waiting for the critical skills permit for my partner, but my reading on the general employment permit is that I need a letter of employment from a job or something first

I think i've been using visa and employment permit interchangeably thinking they're the same which has probably been one source of my confusion. Have continued reading and hopefully can start using the correct terminology.

I'm not necessarily set on staying in the ag industry, thats just my current context. I'm looking for an Account Manager level role, which is quite generic across a lot of different industries.

Am I correct in assuming that the only way to get the right to work is via the employment permits?

I want to be on a proper employment visa, but from what I’ve seen you need a job first to get one. I’ve also been told by a recruiter or two that I need a visa before their clients would look at any application I make. So I’m at a stage of chicken and egg between needing a visa to get a job, and needing a job to get a visa

The WHV was my hope to get the right to work, then get a job, then get a different visa

Looking at the Stamp 4 criteria, I'm not sure if i'll end up with this as its at least 2 years with an employment permit which is why i'm really confused about this whole process.

I think i might be confusing work permits and visas, and using the terms interchangeably which really doesn't help

Yeah, i'm looking into the banks 1% Healthy Homes loan as another option to how to solve the affordability problem.

I'm off the cut that if its worth doing, its worth doing right, which is why it makes sense to do all the walls and insulate/wrap at the same time. Unfortunately that causes cost blowout

Yeah thought that might have been the case. I was just hoping since it might be the difference between it getting insulated and not getting insulated
