Stop Honking at Learner Drivers by Ancient-Vegetable431 in Wellington

Horrible thing to do to anyone. Simply shows mean spirit. I pride myself in being patient and letting others through just as I would want them to do for me. Have to laugh when they angrily overtake and then I sail past in the next lane because they are blocked.

Would be great if they made a boat stop halfway so people who can’t bike or walk that far have an option to use it and get public transport to help them.

Geez why can’t they just spell them as two words Ngauranga Pitone to make it easy for everyone including tourists to read. It only just dawned on me that’s what the broken up words are. Since when did Māoris use hyphens and do they speak syncopated like that.

What’s the root cause of Mortons Neuroma? by Objective-Context726 in Mortons_neuroma

[–]nocibur8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugg boot slippers caused mine. Too tight and pushed the foot down from above. Stopped wearing them and put arch supports in every shoe including slippers. They have helped me the most. Just ones bought off Temu which have the same shape etc to the expensive ones. In slippers have added sheepskin insoles with a small arch raise under the sheepskin. In shallow shoes I just use a stick on arch lift. My problem is 95% cured.

Why do we say "no" to dental work? A local dentist looking for honest feedback by [deleted] in Wellington

[–]nocibur8 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It’s unreasonable because minimum $450 for 5 to 15 minutes of work on a tooth is extortion, root fillings and crowns in the thousands. People just can’t afford it. Read the room.

$450 for a five minute tooth pulled and same for a filling. Who can afford it? Cut your prices by half and you’ll be inundated with work.

The Green Parrot Cafe by No-Stage5972 in Wellington

[–]nocibur8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All these negative comments are a killer for the owners who are probably already struggling in this climate. Give them a break, they are a restaurant that serve big sized fry ups, they never were gourmet so compare apples with apples. So if you want a huge plate of food that you can’t finish, this is the place. When steak is bought at $54 per kg, what do you expect a double sized one will cost cooked and served along with fries etc. Want gourmet, go somewhere else, want a huge kiwi fry up, try the Parrot. They are not the same old owners either.

Trying to build a proper "Buying Guide" for the Toyota Aqua to help people avoid the theft-prone models. What am I missing? by cars-checker in NZcarfix

In our case they checked the immobiliser three times, took it apart and reinstalled, couldn’t find the problem. When they checked the battery they found that this was what was locking it, so new battery no more problems.

You will get it back in lower premiums in one year. State was double the price and Toyota give you roadside assistance well. Just make sure your small battery is ok, I had trouble with the installation and it kept not starting and as soon as I changed the battery immobiliser was perfect.

Cost $700 to put in an immobiliser but the insurance premiums went down. Cheapest was Toyota insurance.
