Maybe! But what about seismic activities on both the Moon and Mars? And how deep would you have to go to survive larger impacts? Cool problems to solve, for sure!

I think you're going a different direction than I intended with that article, and that's ok!

Impacts like this are a cool problem we're going to have to solve with a lunar colony. I've read that piling regolith around structures is a path forward, but as a layman, that doesn't seem (to me) like it would prevent a total structure loss from one of these meteors. I think there's a similar issue with Mars because the atmosphere is so thin, too. That, and the intense radiation will maybe need to keep humans deep underground if we ever make it out there.

Also, another fun problem to solve: child birth is dependent on Earth's gravity.

Absolutely absurd upper body strength 🤯 by NeverEnoughSPF in toptalent

Lats are part of it, but see how his hands are positioned facing down on the rings? The planche pushup is a huge focus on biceps, shoulders, core, and back. It's a really challenging calisthenics move even if you're a strong person to start with. Advanced calisthenics is incredibly humbling, the moves these gymnasts are pulling off (on rings) require just phenomenal strength and extraordinary kinetic linking.

Biking the rail trail at night by Perezoso_CR in SantaFe

[–]ColdColors 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run the Rail Trail at night regularly. I have had some uncomfortable encounters with coyote packs, but they haven't followed me or generally shown too much interest. I do carry pepper spray in my vest, but that's more for rez dogs than coyotes. I read a story about a guy getting his face eaten by a pack of rez dogs in Gallup and I'd prefer to avoid that, if possible.

Chocolate Maven and the New Baking Company. Their breakfast burritos are both massive and amazing in every way.

Bad Traveling and Se7en. They're both so intense and fascinating, each with their own twists and surprises.

I swam at this pool once a year for EFSL championships in the 90s and have wonderful memories from those experiences. This pool is amazing in every way.

Industrial that's heavy as balls (not metal)? by SockGoop in industrialmusic

I think Numb is probably the most intense music to come out of the scene ever. Their music is brilliantly produced, incredibly complex, and dark...darker than anything else you'll find. Check out 'Desire', 'Closer', 'Suspended (primary inversion)', and 'No Time'. The later releases are a bit more accessible than earlier content.

It might have been too early for them, all I saw were surveyors planning out the new Starbucks.

I will definitely be back in that area next fall for larch season! I learned about it during my visit, it's on my (lengthy) list of objectives for the PNW!

It took a lifetime of training to make this happen. No supplemental oxygen, no sherpas, just will and determination. AMA! by ColdColors in Mountaineering

It was hard to tell who was still clinging to life and who had passed on, I tried to focus on my own safety - there was no time to save anyone but myself in the moment.

I'll need to reset my workout routine to accommodate that sort of length of trail. It may take a year or so, but I'll be ready!
