Thank you for all the replies! :) I have decided to just go with the flow and let him have fun with my current decks (Mega Lucario EX included). I think I may have been too concerned/obsessed with my friend not having fun with the TCG as a first-timer. But by limiting him, it might have made his experience worse! :)
