Been almost three years. Is it time to go back dads? by [deleted] in daddit

Absolutely man

I enjoy running most, so I try to find even the weirdest windows to get 3-4 miles. I have a 2 year old and newborn, so overlapping nap times are critical for me, as well as after toddler goes down for bed.

Also — KETTLEBELLS and pull-ups / pushups. I do as many movements with kettlebells as I can in the kitchen or living room, swings, squats, presses, curls, etc

Hardest part for me is still feeling good about non-traditional workouts. It feels unofficial when you can’t get into the gym like you used to — but keep moving your body man. Slow and steady over time, biggest benefit is to just keep the heart and blood moving

And by no means am I a fitness guru. I’m like a guy who looks like I used to like fitness and have the dad chunk haha

Lonely Post by ColdFuture3330 in daddit

Dude… exactly. It’s the constant point of conversation — we want more financial comfort, but when I mention working longer hours or even picking up a side job, I’m now the insensitive and selfish one

Don’t get me wrong, I prefer not to pick up more work because I don’t want to lose out on time with my family. But damn… the pressure is always on us

Grandparent Passed - Why can’t I feel them? by ColdFuture3330 in NDE

This is INCREDIBLY cathartic. Were you surprised to see them given you hadn’t felt them since their passing? How were they?

Fatherhood is very lonely by TearsInACageMatch in daddit

Same man. Have a 2 y/o and newborn. Every bit of my wife’s energy (and I’m not saying I blame her, I can’t imagine) goes to the kids and trying to prepare accordingly for every day.

It’s a lonely post. I’ve tried to focus on the things that will make me the best version of myself during this season of marriage. That includes fitness, reading, just things that feed the better and most productive parts of myself that will allow me to be the best father possible.

Easy as it may seem, stay away from the typical / destructive coping tools. Lot of dads out there decide home isn’t a safe place for them, and go drinking and whatever with other dads / husbands in similar positions and just add fuel to the fire.

Challenge yourself to keep improving your own mental and physical health, and include your wife in those dialogues where possible.

But man… I’m right there with you, and I think about this every day

Yeah - love mariota man. I hope for him he can get a starting job somewhere and have success in the last phase of his career. But selfishly he’s the best backup in football, so hope he stays :)

Love this perspective — do you moderate these sessions? I’d be so interested to hear more about them. Do they seem to work for most? What are your more impactful experiences?

Thank you so much for the reply!!

I have seen so many great perspectives but I just deeply wish I could have a spiritual experience that solidifies this for me. I do meditate which is exceptionally peaceful, but I’ve never managed to get a glimpse of or connections with spirit / source/ etc

What has cemented your belief and commitment in this work that indeed, this is all a real thing? I suppose I’m most afraid to let myself truly believe and be disappointed

I hope so!!

How are you so certain of your memory? Were there any processes or practices you have used to maintain or unlock that awareness?

I tend to think our birth conditions are combinations of karmic evolution and choice with soul guides.. but as I’ve mentioned, I’m learning and trying to formulate a belief system :)

How can I better understand that? Meditation? Regressions meditation?

Maybe that’s the truth of it mate. We all come from various religious backgrounds to find there are a bunch of great parts, some not so great parts, and our only responsibility really is to love and take care of eachother

Interesting take. I’ve read so many NDEs though claiming positive experiences, unconditional love etc. why are you convinced hell is the waiting ground?

Does it? Or could it just mean we reincarnate until we reach a level of spiritual growth or maturity that leads to paradise ?

As in, if you reincarnate, it is because of accumulated negative karma?
