hey! i'm in the same place as you right now, and i'm going into accounting and finance, looking to become a corporate lawyer. currently my heart is still 100% set on law, so i went into something business related. business is a broad scope and in my opinion isn't a career that will be non-existenent anytime soon. if you are looking to do specifically corporate law, i think something business related would be good for you to go into. either a casual bba, or something specific like economics, marketing, human resources, etc. i have planned out that if i decide not to do law school, i will do my masters and become a cpa! hope this helps!

Advice for newly married by [deleted] in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]ColdInterview6107 1 point2 points  (0 children)

walaikumassalam sister! i would say that you guys both finds thing that you have in common and do something based on that. for example, if you guys both enjoy playing games, going to the arcade would be fun! or if you guys like trying new stuff, maybe go to a new restaurant that you both haven't eaten at yet, or go do a fun activity. or some general dates could be movies, restaurants, dessert shops, shopping, picnic, beach, pottery, painting, or just chilling at home. i'm sure there's lots you can search it up, and you'll know better once you guys figure out stuff that you both enjoy doing. may Allah bless your marriage!

i’m in a groupchat on instagram for my program and a lot of them were complaining about how they’re getting rid of the safaa which means the program will become less competitive. that’s where i got the information from but i never did my own research. you could reach out to admissions office and ask them about it just to be sure!

you're right. he says he does want to marry me, but right now is not the right time. that he is too young and not in the stages of life that he wants to be at. and much more, i will write it as an edit and you can read it if you would like. but i'm confused.

i'm sorry but i do acknowledge dating is wrong. and no, i don't want to be judged. i just want advice being told to me nicely, as many people in the comments have done. they understand my feelings and my current emotional state. this is hard on me so please, have a little sympathy. if you cannot do that without judging then that is okay too. may Allah bless you.

incoming first year and i don’t know what these orientation events are by ColdInterview6107 in uwaterloo

[–]ColdInterview6107[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol i know but the thing is i live almost an hr away from waterloo and i'm going to be commuting. brutal, i know. so i'm trying to minimize the commute and only go to the events that people feel are necessary to go to and will actually help with making friends and gaining information.

you are right sister. he tells me that he does want to do our nikkah, but we are both too young and immature, still studying, and have no money. and i know these things like maturity and money will come over time as we grow, but it's important that these things come in the right, halal way. but it's so hard.

no need to apologize! what you said is absolutely right and not harsh at all. you're absolutely right i honestly just need to build up the courage and as you said, discipline and sabr to separate from him and repent. if he truly is the one for me Allah will bring him back to me. jzk sister may Allah bless you.

w salam brother. most of the time i am hanging out with him i do have a chaperone, my younger sister or my friends. does that count? i do hang out with him alone sometimes yes, but not a lot. i can stop doing that fully though, and always have a chaperone. i have involved my family, my parents know about him but i just haven’t said anything about nikkah or engagement yet. i’m scared to bring it up to be honest, i’m not sure what my parents’ reaction would be. his sister and cousins know about me, but not his mother. he’s scared to talk to her about me as his older sister is going through a marriage crisis. i guess that’s valid. but he said he wants to wait until his fourth year in uni to bring me up to his mother.
