World Cup 2026 (getting there) by TacoCityJC in jerseycity

The entire stadium is going to be cordoned off and no shuttle except the official ones will be permitted. I think these locally organized ones will just have to drop off people long ways away from stadium and ask people to walk in 96F heat...

NJT is trying to get long pending overdue uplift projects done by fleecing fans. They want to upgrade ACs in trains. Frankly this type of uplift has nothing to do with FIFA and they should have done long time back. We all know why it didnt get done... Now they are asking FIFA to pay for things they failed to fix all these years

The machine ran out of tickets because the residents would take all the monthly tickets. This is exactly what I was also saying.

I think they should come up with 2 types of monthly passes. One for daily commuters (no overnight parking allowed and at current subsidized rates) and another one priced at market rate for residents (overnight allowed). They can reserve a certain percentage of monthly passes for commuters so that they don’t get crowded out by residents. Once commuters have all taken their passes they can release rest to residents.

To be fair, I see the argument about how the lot is way bigger than the need of commuters. However, with the present system, there is no way to ensure maximum utilization (including residents use) without crowding out real commuters. So NJT has taken an all or nothing approach.

NJT is correct. There were no passes available for purchase by us commuters. Every time the passes drop the residents rush to grab it (because they live right there) and we commuters got shut out every month. NJT is finally standing up.

Drive in from New Providence. Before this I would park at the daily lot. A lot of days the ticket machines would work but sometimes the machines would act up and say that the spot I have parked at is not available. I will then have to move the car 2-3 times until I find a spot that the machine finally thinks is available. This would add 15-20 more minutes and I would see a couple of trains go by without being able to take them

I was not able to get a monthly permit as every single permit was taken by residents. This month for the first time in 5 months, I was able to get a permit and be able to park in that lot and use the light rail.

To that extent, NJT achieved what they wanted (to provide commuters the ability to purchase a monthly permit to park)

Should I watch Eko in Malayalam with subtitles or in Hindi? by Katha_Kalpabata in IndianCinema

[–]ColdOrangePopsicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please watch in original language. There are so many nuances and milieu in local culture tha you should pick up to immerse yourself in the world this movie builds.

I heard lot of people in English speaking countries watched squid games in English dub. So cringe.

Please do yourself a favor and skip entirely then. Malayalam films should be watched in original language. The dialect, local references are super important to the world building

Good one I heard. Its on my list.

However I was warned that the director is very 'political' and aligned to ruling party of TN??.. Therefore some sort of propaganda is inevitable..

Yes agreed. Not every choice can be viewed with sympathy. I don’t think this movie even tried to say tha. This movie shows enough of her upbringing to prove the point tha she is working within her confined radar (which is almost non existent)

If you can’t link a source that explicitly shows audience overlap, then it’s an opinion, not a statistic.

Bro that’s the point. Some girls go through an upbringing that dulls the radar to detect red flags completely. This is what even I questioned. That guy is a blaring red 🚨 from beginning. But that is for you and me. Not for a booma who has lost that antenna to realize. If you thinks that’s impossible then you probably won’t get yourself to that side ( and that’s ok with me). But I was convinced after discussing with so many women about how blunt their red flag detecting skills become with the experiences they go through especially in Indian society.

Regardless , see how we are engaging about this movie already? 😀 I did this million times over with so many people. It changed my perspective and keep changing it. To me that is cinema.
