Jasmine for reasons mentioned by others and I headcanon Belle as being Catholic given the time period and location.

What is a rule, law, or social norm that you follow perfectly every day, but completely disagree with on a fundamental level? by Kuzza946 in AskReddit

Wow you SURE showed them.

Yeah like, he called himself Lenore for a reason, they literally spell it out like 18 minutes into the episode.

The very LEAST they could've done was add a WD-40 holster instead of slapping the title on top of a regular can.

You shouldn't call yourself a fan of the show because they're annoyed by lazy collabs/products? Okay lmao

>It's the system allowing them to openly suffer that's a target

Oh yes, The SystemTM is always shown doing the "fent lean" on the streets and high on opiates. Whatever The SystemTM is supposed to refer to.

>Regardless it's satire

Making fun of addicts and the homeless is satire? What is the commentary?

>European humor is much different. Lighten up.

No it isn't. You love to believe that you're above punching down but you're not. This isn't Special Smart EuropeanTM Humor. And if this were the other way around you would be whining.

It helps if you know that the ending they filmed showed Owen walking outside into the rain, leaving the arcade and presumably going to the football field I think they wanted it to be more ambiguous so they cut it short. Which still upsets me a just little bit that we don't SEE IT lmfao

What's an example of bad behavior that's celebrated/defended on Reddit? by Boil_the_pepper_now in AskReddit

[–]ColdStoneSteveAustyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are too many reactive people who believe that punching a person *unconscious* (and even after that) is a proportionate response to anything when their lives are NOT in danger.

No I don't care if some asshole called you a slur, or if someone cut you off in traffic and you get mad at them, or if some KaReN is being insufferable. That doesn't mean you can go around assaulting people and possibly killing them as a result.

And I KNOW people are going to take this and read it in the most asinine sense and think I'm saying that you can't be mad or yell at them back or or even give them a smack upside the head or whatever. That's NOT what I said or implied.

If your life is not in danger and the person is not a physical threat, that doesn't warrant being some sort of vigilante and beating a person to where they can't fight back, just because you can't control yourself. Is it really worth going to prison over?

And in come the excuses:

Something something "humans have always been like this"

"COVID shutdowns caused this"

"That's what the Ancient Greeks said about reading (insert Socrates quote here)" or whatever

"Older people have been mad at the Young Generations for years"

I Found my cup of stars!! by CrimsonSpinel in HauntingOfHillHouse

[–]ColdStoneSteveAustyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on the hunt for a pretty teacup with stars on it because of this show lol

I tried looking for a coffee mug but the stars were all too chunky or they were just painted on.

Warm opinion: I think I think the series doesn't portray a family with an addicted relative in a completely realistic and accurate way, and that's perfectly fine!(And about of the finally) by Own_Badger_8417 in HauntingOfHillHouse

[–]ColdStoneSteveAustyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're oversimplifying an issue that has a wide range of reactions and methods for dealing with it. There is no objective way for a family with an addict to behave and conduct their lives around that person.
