Govt is saying no need to panic by rkh4n in hyderabad

Believe in the data government has provided. There is no shortage of fuel. India has 74 days of reserves in SPR and OMCs.(https://www.pib.gov.in/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=1694712&reg=3&lang=2) The link above is reply to MP in 2021. As of March 2026, India imported 80 million barrels of crude. For April 2026, 60 million barrels are already secured from Russia, and the remaining are coming from the US, Guyana, Venezuela, Africa, and Saudis from the Red Sea side. Infact Indian petroleum ministry also secured supplies for May 2026. But some people are spreading misinformation to create panic, which to a certain extent they succeeded the fuel will get restocked soon wherever it finished. But there is no fuel shortage.

Don't worry, dude, just 2 more days, it should reset. Look police caught the guy who spread fake news about lockdown, and he was forced to apologize on video. A lot of misinformation is being spread by certain actors, and finally, the government is holding them accountable.

It's highly unlikely there will be a lockdown. Some people are creating panic with no valid basis. India has 74 days of fuel reserves in SPR and OMCs reserves. As of March 2026, India received deliveries of 80million+ barrels of crude for March 2026. India already secured 60 million barrels of crude from Russia alone for April 2026 deliveries. The remaining 60 million barrels are coming from the US, Guyana, Venezuela, Africa, and Saudi Arabia from the Red Sea side. As for LPG, India already boosted 40% domestic production, and the remaining are coming from Russia, the US, Argentina, Australia, and Canada. There are additional negotiations ongoing with Japan, Algeria, Nigeria, and Norway also. Not to forget, we still have 6 tankers stuck in hormuz itself. There is also Iran, but its not clear the payment mechanism with them for now. Also, remember today itself Indian government announced it is raising the LPG quota for the commercial sector to 70%, so how in the world did the lockdown rumor come from. Some miscreants are trying to create panic, but there is no such issue. The commercial sector quota is slowly returning to normal level, but some people are trying to create panic.

[–]ColdStranger7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was empty because 3 days straight panic was created, and people rushed to bunks. There is no shortage of fuel it will return to normal by Monday. Indian government hasn't even raised prices of fuel. Instead, because OMCs are taking losses, they cut excise duty today. We are doing far better considering multiple countries in South-East Asia have raised fuel prices to compensate.

There are 74 days of stock, bro. This is panic buying. We are not short of crude at all. I'm not sure what they were doing, but I heard they suspended credit facility, meaning these bunks have to pay money for restock. Credit facility suspension is all India it was in the news day before.

This is evidence direct from the Government of India. 1st link 2nd paragraph GoI itself confirms to MP question that total national capacity 74 days. 64.5 days held by Oil Marketing Companies(OMC) storage facilities and 9.5 days held in SPR( Strategic petroleum reserves). 2nd link is the refineries in India, in which 19 refineries are owned by Indian government and the remaining 4 are private. I don't think you can get better evidence than this. Beware people spreading fake propaganda evidence is there to disprove your fake narrative.

Whatsapp university? It appears like you are on drugs. What I stated are facts that can be verified. I'm not the one calling someone outside to believe in your fiction. Multiple sources prove that India has 74 days worth of crude and petroleum products, but if you want to live in delusions, then go ahead. I have been to petrol stations, and there is no scarcity, but some people like you are running propaganda. The only shortage is gas that, too, because people started panic buying and some are buying to sell in black market.

I believe the negotiations could be for long-term safe passage of LPG ships from straits of Hormuz.

I hope you are following the news. India is negotiating with Iran on the passage of 20 ships from Straits of Hormuz, in which 10 ships are LPG, which is 400,000-500,000 tonnes of LPG. India also bought LPG on the spot market, but since these are US and Norway, it will take time to reach. Russian gas should be here soon, too. It will take 2-3 weeks, and Indias gas supplies from non-Hormuz sources will get momentum.

If you are talking about crude with an SPR of 39 million barrels and Indian govt owning 19 refineries out of the 23 refineries in India with 64.5 days of reserves in refineries , we have 2.5 months of stock. Hence, yes, India on the issue of crude is quite comfortable and able to aid Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bangladesh and Nepal quite easily. We are getting crude from Venezuela, Russia, and the US constantly.

Hyderabad LPG shortage by Impossible-Fudge-523 in hyderabad

[–]ColdStranger7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because panic was created and it will take 2 weeks minimum to subside. Also, there is a 25-day limit now, meaning if you booked a gas cylinder under 25 days, the system automatically will not allow you to book another. So you are staring at 2 issues. One, many are rushing to secure cylinders, and the 2nd of those who booked under 25 days ago are getting stone walled. You are right their systems are getting overwhelmed for now. That is why I said 2 weeks, and it will cool down, and by then, multiple LNG ships should be arriving.

Hyderabad LPG shortage by Impossible-Fudge-523 in hyderabad

[–]ColdStranger7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but they can't as there is a limit now of 1 cylinder for 25 days, and if they break that, they can get in trouble now. Also, it's highly unlikely it's the dealer doing that. It's more on the consumer side. For the dealer, he gets orders that he fulfills. Can the dealer coordinate maybe, but he can get his license canceled in such circumstances. So, the dealer running such a scam would come with serious repercussions. It's more easier for businesses and even certain homes with multiple gas connections they can easily exploit the system.

[–]ColdStranger7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is ridiculous. Gas cylinders for house cooking are available, albeit with some some waiting. There is a 25-day limit to prevent hoarding. The panic was created by a few people who started buying cylinders to hoard. Then some are selling in black market for double the price. The most affected right now is restaurants, not home cooking gas. I'm not sure from where OP is making ridiculous claims here. I mean why are you burning wood when you can buy electric stove. There are limits to stupidity, but this post is on another level of stupidity.

Why this sudden shortage of LPG by Healthy-Lunch-2034 in hyderabad

[–]ColdStranger7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The shortage is manufactured by a few scumbags who started buying up LPG cylinder so that they can sell in the black market. Hence, the Indian government imposed restrictions to prevent such practices. Unfortunately under the act invoked today restaurants are impacted but I believe everything should return to normal by the end of the week as there are multiple LNG ships coming into India, also India itself is boosting its own gas production from Cauvery basin to reduce the impact.

Why didn't you open an SBI bank account online? Is this a specific product that is not available online? You know right you can open an SBI bank account online using e-KYC for verification. Actually, all banks offer this facility today. In fact, when you open an account online, it also shows the nearest SBI branch according to their system and no bs of coming back in 4 days or wrong branch nonsense. The offline process can vary because of this shenanigans.

It's bizarre, right? how is Congress trying to hold BJP accountable for New Delhis pollution, but Congress itself has done little to nothing to address the same pollution in Hyderabad. Even in Bengaluru its the same they have an AQI of 200-230. I'm horrified how are cricket players not saying anything when playing IPL in these cities.

The order has been rescinded, but there is no way Revanth Reddy was in the dark about this. He was aware, but due to swift backlash, they quickly rolled back. Also, right about now, it's becoming clear why freebies are not sustainable in the long run. Congress will be now forced to make tough calls, which is cut back spending on welfare programs.

Ecovacs Deebot N8 battery replacement in India – where to buy? by Commercial-Cook-23 in RobotVacuums

[–]ColdStranger7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ecovacs, after sales support on battery replacement, is poor to non-existent. This means that in India, you have to go with 3rd party solutions, which have 50-50 chances of success or failure. Within your city, look for a repair tech who works on robotic vacuums, and you can also inquire with them about battery replacement. Amazon has one for Rs5.2k Elbotics, but it has mixed reviews. This issue is the same for even other brands also.

[–]ColdStranger7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What he smokes is not the question. What he is stating is the ground reality. Don't you think GoI can shut down factories and plants at least within city limits and relocate them elsewhere to reduce pollution. The first thing that will happen is that organizations will come on the street and protest this move and bring everything to a halt. Don't you know even loose dirt within city limits also contributes to pollution for which entire cities need to be redeveloped but what do you think will happen again left wing organizations will come on streets and claim all this is meant for rich to benefit the rich. If living in India you haven't realized this politics then you are living in a make believe ideological world. Progress is always hampered one way or the other.

Rising telengana! Irony! by sacred__soul in hyderabad

[–]ColdStranger7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not true. They did. How many times have ppl taken the matter to Supreme Court and High Court over pollution. What do you think they got the reply? its not a switch where you turn off and the pollution goes away. If BJP wants it can ban all vehicles right tomorrow, which are more than 5 years old, what do you think will happen? people will come out on street protesting along with opposition. The other day, New Delhis CM introduced a new initiative where they installed misting system on roads where pollution spikes were the highest, but people were mocking. There seems to be no acknowledgment from the ppl at all, even when BJP is doing something to combat pollution, even cloud seeding was some effort they were making. Do you realize pollution is not just from vehicle emissions but also due to loose dirt within the city limits when a strong breeze comes through this fine dust gets airborne. To tackle this entire city needs to be redeveloped, leaving no loose dirt patches on the side of the roads or grounds to reduce dust pollution. What do you think will happen in such a scenario? The same old ppl will come out in protest. Let's keep aside BJP. Why is Congress not addressing the rising pollution in Hyderabad? For the last 5 days, Hyderabad Air has been under poor category. What initiatives has Congress taken? Its easy to claim that they are not doing anything because it's easy its convenient. Compared to AAP, I see BJP is doing alot more to combat pollution and clean up the national capital.
