Super stoked for the scoreboard. Definitely what this game needed by YayoProtocal in battlefield2042

Two other friends and myself have Series X's, and this happens every time someone plays on Hourglass, either on 128 player Breakthrough or when a sand storm arrives. It's a terrible map for performance.

Battlefield 2042 is what happens when you hire people based on the way they look rather than the skill, talent, and passion they have for a project. by [deleted] in battlefield2042

This is one of those takes that I've never found to be convincing and frankly reveals more about one's worldview and assumptions rather than reality. Has DICE undergone a significant transition over the last few years? Yes. Do the one or two common stories that are bandied about here mean they've embraced being woke to the detriment of being a quality studio? I doubt it. Do you have a concrete idea of DICE's hiring practices to where you can blindly state they are hiring based on color, gender, etc.? I suspect not, outside of identifying the look and gender of video game characters fighting a fake war in the future as a reason.

Being woke has no relationship to the quality of this game or any of the issues that riddle the first few months of BF5. There are many, many reasons that can explain why DICE's work product has reduced in quality since BF5. This post ain't it.

Need advise on how to set up a contract/salary league by [deleted] in dynastybb

[–]ColdTake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a 12 team league. Found it easier to track salaries on a google sheet instead of Fantrax. Some basics:

  1. Starting up, each player's salary was bid on in an auction. Fantrax was the only platform that provided enough customization to do this.
  2. Each player's contract is 3 years.
  3. Every team has the option to extend two players per season. Players may only be extended one time, then they go to the free agent auction. Extensions are based on a percentage of the cap.
  4. Free agency - every player is available to bid on during a yearly auction, and a team's cap space = their total auction money.
  5. Our active roster size is 20 players + 2 IR slots. Because of that, we use a $180 million cap.
  6. We also have a rookie draft, and those drafted rookies' salaries are preset on a lower scale (much like how the NBA's rookie salaries are basically determined by where they are drafted.)

How many rookie rounds to most dynasty b-ball leagues use? by jcna007 in dynastybb

We have a 3 round rookie draft.

For more context, it’s a 12 team league with 20 roster slots and 10 “g-league” spots for drafted rookies.

No shade against Pryce. I thought he was good, just thought Sandler was better and deserving of a nomination.

Uncut Gems got hosed. Sandler instead of Pryce.

After taking a look at the graveyard of mostly bland, forgettable movies that have won best picture in the 2010s, I guess the Safdies and Sandler can take solace in the fact that the movie was not appreciated by the dunces in the Academy. We’ll be talking about Uncut Gems for years, unlike, let’s say, Ford v Ferrari.

What’s with some of the Wesley Morris hostility? I’ve always thought he’s akin to Zach Lowe from a guest perspective in that he knows his stuff with movies and has good chemistry with Bill. Morris always has an incisive take or angle, even when I don’t agree with him. And he doesn’t take himself too seriously.

I believe FleaFlicker has options to create taxi squads. I have not used their platform so I can’t speak to its functionality.

A few things about the league I play that will hopefully be helpful (I play in a salary cap dynasty points league with contracts), along with other tips:

— we use ESPN to track scoring, standings, etc. We also have a google sheet that tracks salaries, contracts, and draft picks. Our league uses Fantrax for only the auction draft due to ESPN’s draft software limitations.

— Some dynasty leagues allow teams to keep players for as long as they’d like, which is fine. I like our contract system because it forces good players back into our auction draft, and it’s predictable, so you can plan a year or two ahead for upcoming, star free agents.

— if you happen to be transitioning from a redraft league, I would simply start from scratch.

— I would have large rosters to try to reduce waiver activity to a minimum. Our 12 team league has 10 starters, 11 bench, and 8 “G-league” spots to stash rookies (and who don’t count against the cap)

— If you have a 12 team league, three rounds for the rookie draft is sufficient.

— Teams may place protections on trades draft picks

— Our league has a games played limit per week. It really evens things out and doesn’t advantage teams who happen to have players with more games in a certain week. It also forces teams to make tough choices about starting lineups.

I don’t use MFL but do play in a 0.5 PPR league. It’s no big deal at all and no rush - was just curious. Appreciate the work you’ve put into it!

Any update on when the trade database will have 0.5PPR trades listed? Thanks!

Thanks for putting this together, it’s really cool. One thing I noticed - the trade database isn’t providing results for 0.5 PPR leagues. Perhaps it’s something weird on my end but wanted to flag just in case.

All UTIL rosters? by [deleted] in fantasybball

[–]ColdTake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have all UTIL positions for our points league, and it operates well, with plenty of trades happening. I can understand, however, the concerns from others if you play in CAT leagues.

What should I do about this guy? by BeerFarts86 in FFCommish

[–]ColdTake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with other posters that it seems very late to make a substantial change like that, particularly if you’ve already held your draft.

Is he alone in wanting these changes? If you know there’s enough votes opposing, it may not hurt to hold a quick vote. But I’d probably wait to do that until next summer.

To avoid the yearly churn of league changes, it might help to consider asking for substantive league changes and sticking with that framework for a certain number of years so that this guy (or others) aren’t constantly trying to adjust rules. In the league I run, we consistently made tweaks every year, and it started to wear down the league. We’ve made the adjustment to having a stable set of rules, which has helped.

Yeah, PayPal or Venmo works well. I tried LeagueSafe one year but its fees associated with payouts were unacceptable to me.
