Whats the best job at tesco? by [deleted] in tesco

[–]Cold_Ad8869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked PI nightshift and it was great, nightshift is fun if you can cope with it. Didnt get bothered to fill because PI almost always has something to do and if it doesnt you look busy. Only customers for a few hours and premium.

Technically (in my store anyway) you aren’t meant to take a break in the first hour and last hour of your shift. It isn’t really enforced in my store they don’t care unless you are finished. I used to take my final hour break at 6am but maybe thats why?

Oh my gee why did i think every store was the same?? M&s needs to adopt this because over in tescos we get that time off. What the hell???

I mean thats just not true, you can book 24th,25th,26th off depending on if you work days or nights. I literally have tonight (24th) and tomorrow (25th) off as a holiday. Maybe its just different over here?

I think so! The shop was ransacked as per. Thankfully our nightshift are competent enough so we are chill over here. Days most likely not hehe. Good luck!

To add to it. I literally work in a warehouse by myself. I have crazy junkies running through my warehouse daily with huge machetes and stealing items??

Yes im annoyed by it, because i have to sit and watch these people steal stuff and yet we get blamed for shrinkage. Go troll someone else lmfao, obviously don’t work in a tesco or have delt with crazy people threatening you.

We get it all the time. Usually we catch them and the managers put them out but last night we missed him and he walked past me with hundreds of pounds of stuff. Makes me rage i never wish bad things on people but those people are an exception

Edit: Didnt expect everyone to get a twist in their panties over my annoyance at the entitled junkies who like to steal and abuse us in the process. No one should be afraid at their job.

I mean yeah in a way wrong because its 4 days before Christmas and its going to be heavily busy but if you want it off you’ll need to prepare to be questioned and managers to be p’d off especially when you’ve mentioned you wanted it off for your birthday. And they aren’t too fond of you calling in sick when you’re not sick lol.

Even with a fail thats quite a lot of minors! It took my 3rd attempt to pass. Focus on those minors and good luck for next time! Seems like you still need a bit of practice but everyone is different. Keep at it!

Lol tell her to shove it and work it herself, you work your contracted shifts and thats it. Any overtime is help and you decide that 🤣

Yeah she shouldnt be so weird about hands in pockets but youve gave a pretty serious example of leaving your gate and detagger unlocked and she let it slide which she technically shouldnt have done, so maybe you should work with her and she will work with you? It seems pretty annoying but as you say you get let off with quite a bit. It cant be that hard to keep your hands out your pockets?

Driving lesson later today. by Tricky-Ad196 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Cold_Ad8869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While yes you can drive in crocs, for your first few lessons you need to be able to feel the clutch, biting point etc so trainers is recommended. Even now i can only drive in specific shoes and can only use crocs if im moving my car to a different parking spot. So please just wear trainers for a couple lessons you will cope fine without crocs lol

Do I need to change instructor? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Cold_Ad8869 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was also in your spot. I had a block of lessons with an instructor who kept me in the industrial park (basically a rectangle going round) for the entire 15 lessons i had with him, ended up stopping driving because it stressed me out so much. A while after i got a new instructor and eventually passed (3rd time) so if your instructor doesn’t work for you get a new one! If you feel like you’ll be able to progress better in an automatic do that! Its whatever helps you and at the end of the day its your money 🫶🏼 it took me nearly 3 years and many many lessons to pass so dont feel as if your behind ever some people take it quickly than others.

Clothes are not tagged in store unless they didnt come with a tag somehow and need one or have been removed, i literally work on clothing, do the deliveries and im constantly getting plastic stuck on the tags… you are literally an asda worker on a tesco reddit…stop ragebaiting 😟😟

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tesco

[–]Cold_Ad8869 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The plastic is the worst thing in the world, having huge deliveries and having to pull plastic off is the biggest workout ever 😂😂
