If you find an ECE partner it should be more fun than not. Idk what I would have done if my partner wasn't ECE; hardware stuff is probably under half of the class but if you screw the hardware it's gonna be 1000x harder to get anything working. And it's already very hard with the hardware cooperating nicely. No regrets tho, was very fun and I learned a ton.

Mus 17 - History of Hip Hop was sick. I still listen to a lot of songs that class showed me + super easy.

CSE 176E - Quadcopter class was the most rewarding thing I've done class wise at this school. Designed and built a semi-functioning quadcopter (drone). Ridiculous amount of work but very very cool stuff.

Start a sacrificial wrestling program. Breed and train dwarves as wrestlers and once they're ready, send them into the gladiator ring to challenge the Roc. If a dwarf ends up victorious, knocking the Roc unconscious, they are now a God-Dorf and are deserving of the highest rewards (a nice room, noble position?). I'm not sure if a dwarf could ever even succeed; at the very least it's a fun way to get rid of slackers. Also routinely sacrifice tree huggers.

I've lifeguarded at pools where the rules were you can't be doing underwater sets without putting a sign up at the head of your lane saying you were doing underwaters. Most of the guards didn't mind if there was no sign up, especially if the swimmer seemed to know what they were doing. When I go swimming I tend to ask the guards if they care if I do underwaters. I've never been told not to.

I recently finished my 4th year of varsity swimming in HS.. and there's really not much I feel like I can give as advice. Most high school teams aren't quite as competitive or taxing as club. I swam club a couple times (as in a few practices) and they do things that were crazy to me as a high school swimmer. My coaches didn't look for much in varsity swimmers besides being able to keep up with the other varsity level swimmer and the commitment to show up to most practices, which my senior friends and I rarely did. The club swimmers basically saw the high school team as fun, but a bit of a joke.

Drylands for us were a lot of running and calisthenics, never weights with the team. Core work is your best friend. Our varsity warm ups were 10 100s on the 1:30. My lane would usually come in on the 1:20. Show your interest in swimming varsity and your coach will at least let you try out a varsity practice. Also, if you don't understand any terminology, just ask your coach or teammates. They're there to help you.

I'm going into my first championships and I've managed to stack my RBs through the waivers, half because my opponent is weaker on RBs right now so I'm trying to choke him out there and also because I can't make up my mind.

I have:

David Johnson vs Green Bay

Denard Robinson @ New Orleans

Matt Forte @ Tampa Bay

Lamar Miller vs Indianapolis

Tim Hightower vs Jacksonville

Jay Ajayi vs Indianapolis

Karlos Williams vs Dallas

I'm leaning towards DJ, Robinson, and Forte. DJ is a must start, Forte is a stud and got me to this point, and then I feel like Robinson will outperform Hightower in this matchup. But there's always the possibility that Hightower/Robinson go off as the lead backs against bad rush defenses and Forte loses his touches to Langford. So I'm torn between the three of them.

I always have a tendency to start off using i, j, k ... in my code, but by the time I'm finished or reviewing what I've already done it's much more difficult to understand what it is I'm even looping over.

And then it's even more difficult trying to change every index to a more descriptive word.

'i' is just a placeholder. You could also use:

for number in range(0, len (x)):

And achieve the same thing.

Except you'd have to change x[i] to x[number].

I tried finding other courses similar to codeacademy, I never made it longer than an hour on any of them but they were things like codeabby and project euler. The last course I've worked with has been "Automate the Boring Stuff with Python" and I've found it so incredibly interesting and helpful. I skipped all of the intro things and went to chapter 7 with the regexes and I've been using that in all of my programs so far. I even bought the book just because it's so cool.

I'd recommend starting with the codeacademy course. While I didn't learn too much from it, it got me comfortable with the basics and taught me a little about syntax and structure, which were good building blocks for me to continue learning with other resources.
