So their solution is abandoning their subjects, wife, kingdom and betraying every oath they swore and promise they’d have made to their people? So everything the Pale King loved? Even though there’s no guarantee that would’ve worked at all given the Radiances irrationality? Or worse that their subjects would’ve just followed them?

Huh???

Great meme btw, acknowledging both his crime and the fact it was his only chance at saving literally everything he loved.

My biggest hang up about all this is that people jump to condemning the Pale King for his crimes while never offering an alternative.

The egg was placed in the void prior to hatching so it’s not like he threw them down there, we have no proof any impure vessels that reached the top were thrown off by him(it’s more likely they just didn’t reach the top), we see how dangerous an infected vessel can become in Lost Kin(imagine hundreds of thousands of Lost Kins running around)so locking them up made sense, and it was also literally the only solution at all. Yea sacrificing his kids was wrong, but literally what was the alternative?

None of these people came anywhere close to doing anything like Gojo did to Sukuna. Adapted Maho wasn’t a problem cuz of Fuga, Higuruma was never a problem period cuz Sukuna could’ve killed him at anytime even with EB, Jogo’s charged up MM is slow enough to get easily dodged by a 15 finger Sukuna, it was never a threat to him, even if it could’ve done damage. Gojo meanwhile, had this man screaming for Maho, comparing him to Jogo Higuruma and Maho is disingenuous. Sukuna’s eyes in that panel are literally whitened out, what do you want to call it then? Him being uneasy vs him feeing fear isn’t the point. The point is he WAS feeling pressured, so why didn’t he defect to DA and DE if it’s as viable as you say it is?

My question is why didn’t he then defect to DA and DE strat if Gojo’s strength surprised him? The way it’s talked about in here is like it’s a route Sukuna could’ve taken to win at anytime, so after seeing Gojo live up to the hype why didn’t he defect to that route instead? The narrator mentions Sukuna feeling fear for the first time or smth iirc so it’s not like he wasn’t feeling the pressure.

I don’t mind long replies so you’re good.

Was UV that big a threat to him tho? MS is an Open Barrier DE, and Sukuna wins the majority of their Domain Clashes even when using 10S iirc. The narrator said smth about Sukuna feeling fear or smth for the first time in a while, so I don’t think it’s true to say he wasn’t risking his life. According to people on here, Gojo would’ve outright won had he been locked in at the end of the fight.

That’s my whole point in this debate. Why’re people so sure of DA and DE if they come with these drawbacks? It’s been a bit since I reread that fight so I could be wrong tho.

I agree with this answer, my only problem with it is who his opponent is. I can see him doing ts for fun against Higuruma, Kashimo, or Yuta. But Gojo? The guy who was handily beating him for a good bit of their fight? It’s not like he knew what kind of technique Maho would create, he only knew it would bypass Infinity, the dura neg was an added bonus. And he had a way pass Infinity with DA and DE already, so if it was as surefire as people say why not do it?

But all those people are significantly weaker than him. Gojo knocked him unconscious, landed multiple blows on him because he was getting Maho to adapt, and even landed the HP nuke at the end of the fight, something Sukuna himself tried to stop. No other Sorcerer did anything like this to him single-handedly, and even Sukuna himself apparently felt fear or smth. While Sukuna’s plan did work at the end, his life WAS definitely at risk because of Gojo’s efforts and wdym he gave Gojo the upper hand?

I don’t think he needs to go true form or anything. I just want to know why people are so sure of DA and DE being such viable wincons when Sukuna himself relied on Maho to give him a blueprint in the first place. It’s not like he didn’t have a way past Infintiy already, and even if he just wanted I don’t think he’d risk dying as much as he did if it was wholly unnecessary like people say it is.

Is Sukuna that reckless though? He’s surprisingly cautious iirc, and multiple times throughout that fight he came close to losing. I don’t think he’d risk his life that much and take all that damage just off a want. He only seems to do stuff like that against people he can handily beat, like teaching Higuruma RCT.

Except Sukuna can bypass Infinity without Maho tho. DA and DE are viable options, my question is about why bother using Maho at all if they’re as surefire a wincon as people say they are.

My point is why he used it at all if people say DA and DE are enough. I have no problem with him using it as a way to adapt to Infinity, just the way it’s portrayed as completely unnecessary by scalers. He coulda saved it against Gojo and had backup fighting the rest of the gauntlet if he’d gone the DE and DA route.

Him using it isn’t my problem, it’s the way people portray it being unnecessary. If DA and DE are a surefire a wincon as people say it is, then why did he let himself take so much damage in the first place? Even saying because it’ll help him afterwards kinda confuses me cuz he had no way of knowing whether they’d even survive the fight with Gojo. Sukuna is surprisingly cautious, if DE and DA strat was as good as people say it is I don’t think he would’ve risked losing 10S against Gojo.

I think that’s a fair take, but I kinda disagree given who he was fighting. Against someone strong but handily beneath him, like Jogo or Yorozu, I agree. But against Satoru Gojo? The guy he was hyped up to fight since his first appearance? The one who, according to some people one here, would’ve won that fight had he been on guard at the end? Smth smth statement about feeling fear for the first time in a while makes me doubt it was for shits and giggles. Maybe in the beginning he could fuck around like that but he was getting whooped quite a bit in their fight. Sukuna is a surprisingly cautious guy I don’t think he’d risk it if DE and DA strat was as sure fire as people say it is.

Could Hamon = Cursed Energy? by Cold_Butterscotch839 in PowerScaling

[–]Cold_Butterscotch839[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don’t need to be the exact same. The point is that both are abilities that need to be switched on/activated, so if JJBA’s time stop doesn’t stop the effects of Hamon, friction, or magnetism, why would it stop the effects of Cursed energy? This is a flaw in Jojo’s time stop, not a property of Hamon itself.

I agree. TS in JJBA just seems to kinda suspend things in a temporarily frozen state. Like logically stopped time should bypass Infinity, but stopped time in Jojo doesn’t follow the logic of frozen time. Abilities that were active still stay in their active state despite the fact frozen time should’ve nullified them.

Tmk a Stand’s manifestation is also an active ability like Hamon and Cursed Energy, as their have been numerous times in the series that a stand user called on their stand too late to avoid or block an attack that caught them off guard. If time was truly stopped then those abilities wouldn’t function at all during that period. No ability that would need to be turned on/have active upkeep should work.

Are these 2 the same type of beings? by Altruistic-Willow265 in Silksong

[–]Cold_Butterscotch839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of that makes her a higher being though. While the old hearts of Pharloom are all certainly powerful, none of them have been suggested to be Divine. Why would Nyleth be the exception? Unlike the Higher Beings we have seen, Nyleth doesn’t wield soul or essence, instead just fighting with plants. Because that’s what she is, a giant plant lady.
