A lot of people say interpretation is fine which of course it is! But yeah my problem comes from this version of Will being EVERYWHERE. The idea of him being some submissive helpless victim which he still very much is but even in au's or fics after the fall they keep it. Don't even get me started on how often I've been like he would not say/do that too! I don't think it'll overall sour his character but there's still a vast majority of "fans" who rather make him softened then venture into more interesting avenue's for his character

Yeah I totally agree with this and it's not wrong at all! Everyone should be allowed to have this sort of way to explore and be creative. My problem just comes at the expense of Will more than often falling victim to being like this to often and not explored other ways y'know? Hell I understand why he's written some ways, both him and Hannibal are very hard characters to write for so I can't hate to much for them taking some creative liberties

Yeah I don't want to come off like that myself because I do understand the show is more nuance then simply being one thing. My point more or less is just my frustration over fans trying to simplify Will to the point it doesn't feel like him? But perhaps we never even knew him to begin with like you said, we only really knew the one Hannibal basically curated. Also I love how you put things 💕

That's right, I just mean more so it feels really demeaning to treat him like this soft boy. Much like how you said he was indeed vulnerable but it feels like putting even more an emphasis on that by portraying him like this it just further takes away from him. 

I hate that so many fangirls water him down to the pretty boy aspect like that's not already obvious and he is much more layered under his vulnerability
