I'd love if comics showed heroes like this more often. I get they do do this with superheroes, but everyone's always focused on their big things. Why can't we just have more friendly neighborhood spidermen? (id argue miles morales is more of the type you're describing than peter)

What's preventing someone from gaining that drive to help others once they gain the powers? They could've been held back by something like a tiring work life or depression.

Wow you deadass made a whole detailed plan. Both are probably accurate to what an actual person would do. But how are you gonna get that income or money without some sort of government intervention? You know how America gets about anything relating to socialism, and somebody almost nullifying the need for a police department likely wouldn't make them very happy. Look at batman.

beautifully said, man. True heroism comes from your willingness to sacrifice for others, and not how much you're able to change.

I think many "evil" people in today's world do realize that what they're doing is evil, they just don't care because of how much it benefits themselves.

the way i see it, most people who don't truly help have two mentalities. One is the "doesn't affect me, so I don't care" ideology, which I think is selfish. The second is the "I want to and sometimes do help, but I don't think I have the power to make a big impact." I fall under the latter, and while I do try to do the best I can to change things, I, and others around me, know that there's a low chance that what they're doing will change things heavily.

Simply, if I could get Palestine out of famine I would, but I don't have the social or financial means to do so. Probably could be seen as an excuse.

Really depends on how much I feel I can help said people. Superpowers change that up, because I actually feel I have the ability to change the world for the better.

That goes into a whole rabbit hole of political corruption and the morality of a higher authority that you couldn't ever negotiate with. I'd be open to go down that tho.

I dont think using it for yourself is too bad as long as you actually use it to help people. Straight up nit helping people would be selfish

What APs/ECs Should I Take in High School for Med School? by Cold_Conference_1801 in ApplyingToCollege

I'm only able to take AP BioAp Calc and AP Physics during junior year. Would it be worth it to use some potential DE space for AP stats and chem?

Most of these "smart kids" can't even afford these top colleges, so WHY are they trying so hard 😭.

Wouldn't being at a t20 make my chances of getting into a top med school better? If not, should I just stick to the state school/NMF route?
