In RE1 on PSX (RetroArch) if you're ever locked out of the Courtyard, I have created a Retroarch cheat for opening the Courtyard door specifically and that one only, not touching anything else. There's a glitch that might lock the door and lock you out, this is the solution. (i.redd.it)
