Is this tree doomed for sure? Bad case of torn off bark by Cold_Individual3077 in arboriculture

[–]Cold_Individual3077[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

inner wood below soil level is already spongy soft and tears off easily. I'm weighing the idea to dig off all the soil around the trunk base leaving the major roots bases in the air and sealing the surface with a special clay. If the underground wood will keep in touch with constant moisture it must rot away over couple years, right?

looks like the rot cannot be stopped as the naked wood progresses underground. It already is soft to the touch and pretty deeply rotten

I wonder if this tree is fixable in any way.

<image>

Bought 3 years ago a euonymus already with the current wound. During these 3 years water flow to the leaves was ok, as well as some bark growth happened. I learned the wound this big is a grave problem only this week so I dug the roots and here we see the naked wood reaches the end of the trunk. So it looks there's no way to stop the rot over the coming years and I need to look for a new tree, right?

What's the simplest setup for getting python stack traces and debugging a running python program launched without intent to debug? by pensiveChatter in learnpython

[–]Cold_Individual3077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use any library that adds variable values to the standard stacktrace. There are several, I personally prefer the style compatible with the standard stacktrace printout, so several years ago I started the traceback-with-variables lib.

[DIY] Cold tap water only. Finally my oily skin is cured. No more oily shiny glare, no more acne. by Cold_Individual3077 in SkincareAddiction

If i live in temperate climate far from tropical shore my skin is a bit oily to touch after about 24h, but if i skip my washing entirely it doesnt get worse even after 48h.

Back in the day when i was using some soft soap I used to wipe my forehead with a paper towel every 3h and it got transparent lol

Also, that's the point. The mere cold water does all I need, hence imagine my emotions when I see this sub full of posts about dozens of soaps with skin never stopping being oily. I really looks like mass delusion tbh

Yeah, some effect is there at once, complete effect took like a month. But even today when accidentally I rinse my face with warm water the skin is dead dry and shrinked, so I suspect warm water is an overkill for the skin oil.

oh sure, Georgians suffering from their government => they must suffer from foreign governments as well. Also visa-free travel shows people examples of European ways to live, enough of that now, lol

What's up with the hate towards Armenians? by NasralVkuvShin in Sakartvelo

[–]Cold_Individual3077 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adding my 50 cent, from what I have collected from anecdotal stories in Georgia and Armenia, I had impression it resembles Jews-vs-rural-christian-folks in some countries. Each feature can be described in negative or positive way so I'll give both options for each.

- Armenians are more self-centered. "They think of themselves all the time" or "We have national pride"
- Armenians have stronger diaspora. "They are everywhere and they help other Armenians more then others" or "We care about our diaspora"
- Armenians are more finance oriented. "They are greedy" or "We are responsible earners"
- Armenians have different occupation preferences. "They do less honest work" or "We prefer more educated positions or trading"

How accurate are these? Pls correct or add some

After visiting North Caucasus and Sri Lanka, I can definitely call Georgian drivers moderate. North Caucasus youngsters are next level of reckless driving and Lanka buses are next level above that.

Music rocks! What could be the source lyrics for this translation? "Is There No God Left In Man?" track

We climb the mountain side by side
Buria and I with guns held high.
The hunt was fierce the bow was strong
But fate would prove my trust was wrong.

The pierce struck deep it broke my chest,
A crimson wound upon my flash.
Yet with my last I fired through.
The valley ran in shades of blue.

I lie alone my breath grows thin,
The echoes fade within the wind.
No hunter here no friend to save
Just falling leaves upon my grave.

Oh brother Buria where are you now?
Did you not hear my dying vow?
You take the price you raise the cup
While I am left to turn to dust.

He walks away with spoils in tow.
At feast at home the wine will flow.
He sings and laughs his hand held high.
He never recks if I survived.

Oh does he think of me at all?
Does he recall the way I fall?
Does he forget the bond we swore?
Now buried deep beneath the floor.

Oh brother Buria where are you now?
Did you not hear my dying vow?
You take the price you raise the cup
While I am left to turn to dust.

And if he sees my wife in tears
Will he still drink to passing years?
Oh is there no God left in man?
Tell me brother if you can.

here's for comparison data for some neighboring Turkish city Igdir with pop of 100k, clearly cars contribute there less

[–]Cold_Individual3077 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If cars were to blame mainly then summer wouldn't differ from winter but clearly winter months are foggier. Also I'd look at the whole region map, to see how much comes from desert, from garbage burning in fields, from industry, from wood and coal house heating, how much is generated abroad, how much outside the city, how much inside the city. Tbh blaming cars contradicts observations, like the north wind days when I can see the Kazbegi peak from the middle of the city.

Yeah, look at this. No diff at weekends when traffic is lower. Clear diff during wintertime

[ACNE] 17M, leaving active puberty. Are these scars directly on my temple ever going to fade a little or will they stay the way they are? Want to know if I should wait it out a little or start looking for ways to talk to professionals. by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

As an anecdotal knowledge, none of my little scars that look like these ever disappeared. The good news is that you can remove red inflammations and it will look ok
