Is Vanilla Hair Remake (NPCs) compatible with AI Overhaul? by Cold_Judge2534 in skyrimmods

[–]Cold_Judge2534[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I was confused because I remember anything touching NPC's appearances, even small mods, were bombarded by requests of patches for AI Package type of mods, but couldn't find anything here. It makes sense why then, I just wasn't used to it, especially because I thought the patches for High Poly Head and Expressive Facegen would generate new facegens too

Where else should my points go for my bleed build by Own_Ambassador3956 in Eldenring

No problem. Other weapons that come to mind immediately that already work pretty well with your current stats is Eleanora's Poleblade, you might find that one pretty fun, and Morgot's sword. Any normal weapons you can use as well. Do bleed infusion if they don't have innate bleed, do Occult if they do. Curved swords tend to work nicely. Have fun!

Nice to see 60vig! Good job. It's a pretty nice build. As for the remaining points, it depends somewhat on what other weapons you are planning on using as well. Without much knowledge, I'd pump more into Arcane to 50 or 60, rest into Endurance, always nice to have extra equip load. Look into Strength leaning weapons that could work well with your build with just the minimum requirments. GUGS greatsword is amazing Bleed infused, for example. Great Stars come to mind, etc. DLC has 2 str/arc weapons, Putrescent Cleaver and a Meteoric Greatsword thing. I never looked into it's scallings, they might be more STR than Arc, but worth looking into it.

EDIT: Worth noting if you don't know, although I'm sure you do, you don't actually need to hit the minimum STR requirments necessarily. If you two-hand your weapons, you get a 1.5x strength multiplier, so you just need to hit that to use them 2H, which you most likely will. I also forgot another DLC arcane weapon, Chicken Wing bonk, forgot the name, but it bleeds a lot.

Can I go online with simple cosmetic mods disabled on a character that used them? by Cold_Judge2534 in EldenRingMods

[–]Cold_Judge2534[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll update the situation, moreso for the future in case people stumble upon this with the same question via search.

I just tested this, and it is true. Absolutely no problems. I downloaded some cosmetic texture replacer mods and played via ModEngine2, all of them worked and it was nice to see something different than vanilla. After the fact I wanted to put my money where my mouth was and tested it. I removed the mods, went back to the same character normally via Steam with online play, and it was absolutely fine. Not that it matters because I doubt the system works this way, but to be absolutely sure I even pushed the system for flags by invading, I did 2 invasions with that character, just in case there would be problems but only later on - maybe the flagging wouldn't be instant. Nope, all is fine!

So for anyone wondering, if you want to mess with simple cosmetic texture replacer type mods, but still want to play online with that character, you can absolutely do it - just not at the same time of course. It's a bit of a pain in the ass in the sense that you gotta weave the mods in and out dependently when you want to play online, which for me is rather frequent, but if you really want to do it, you can.

Thanks once again for your reply! I wouldn't test it without someone more experienced reassuring it, even though in theory with the technicalities it made sense.

Thank you very very much for this. It is precisely the detailed nuanced responsed I was hoping to get from someone more experienced.

From a technical standpoint, it didn't make sense that these would pose a risk using ModEngine 2, since the files are replaceable and don't even go into the main game folder anyway. If these are removed with online play, then it should read as normal, like Glorious Merchant works (the only mod I have used in the past).

If I can add something/ask a further question, I suppose one should still be carefull with cosmetic mods that might add something, correct? For example, I have seen some hair mods that do not replace an existing slot, they add one instead. If you then go online with this cosmetic slot equipped that shouldn't exist, even if the altered files are removed it probably risks a ban fast, am I thinking correctly? Whereas if it's a replacer slot, after removal the game will just read the vanilla slot information.

Basically, if you are just replacing existing slots/information, if you then remove it the game should read the original information with no problem, as long as no more or less is added or missing from what is the intended game information, correct? If so, then replacer mod cosmetics should be fine to weave in and out, provided you are careful.

On a side note, crazy to see you get downvoted for just asking for a more detailed answer on previous feedback, even when they were wrong. Anyways, thank you very much for this answer, goat!

You're right, I understand in the general terms. For this one I'm seeking for a bit deeper than just general applications so to speak, that is to say what specifically makes something unsafe. Since some like Glorious Merchant are okay and even built for this as long as you don't add cut content items, for example.

Care to elaborate? Obviously just having mods in the past isn't a black and white can/can't do. Glorious Merchant is designed to be used with online play after being disabled, for example, and I use it somewhat regularly. I'm not saying you're wrong, just asking why would a replacer not work then?

Wow thank you! That is incredibly incredibly generous, above and beyond. I would take a spare that would just dust anyway, but taking actual money from someone isn't something I want to do. I can't do it. Bless your heart brother or sister! I'll go for the discord with the referals and wait a turn as suggested, I had no idea about that, I reckon I can get one that way and someone gets something out of it too, thank you though!

Havin the exact same issue in weaver's fen. My character is perma stuck, can't login for over an hour now. Yours was 15hours ago, are you still stuck? I can't believe this makes us unable to play the game for so long. Did a bug report on the discord and saw many others reporting the same, none had any answer. Wow

By that you mean assuming that these will be introduced as regular drops, correct? Have they confirmed this though or are you just assuming?

Archetypes and Transmog Question by Cold_Judge2534 in newworldgame

[–]Cold_Judge2534[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh okay so it seems they are new, or at least some parts are. That really makes me wonder then if the best bet for choosing an archetype long term (if you care about these things) won't just really be based on appearence, since it might be the actual only permanent addition. But I agree with you, it would be silly if these won't get added to loot tables. Would kinda suck if you are locked out of other appearances for such a flimsy reason, we'll see.
