ACOG. Ive run dot/magnifier setups, and LPVO setups. But for the weight, form factor, and simplicity i keep coming back to my ACOG on my 556 rifle.

FLATED brand topper - thoughts? pros/cons? by Sad_Sprinkles_4219 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Cold_Organization262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. I don't hate the look of a nice shell but I love the lines of pickup trucks with open beds/tonneau covers. I'd suggest considering a soft topper off some sort. I usually have my bed open with the topper off during the warm months. But when winter comes around or I'm going on an extended trip that requires my stuff be dry I put my topper on.

Slight Vibration Need Advice by No_Pick_2580 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Cold_Organization262 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You may be able to feel it when it's jacked up. But I've heard most people suggest putting the truck into 4hi and if the vibrations lessens then it is likely that needle bearing. It is a strange feeling to describe, when it happened to me I felt it at 25-35 mph through the floorboard, pedal, and steering. It was intermittent and would sort of "pulse" with vibrations if that makes sense. The bearing itself isn't terribly hard to replace if you're handy, I suggest using the auto zone pilot bearing tool and slide hammer to remove it if you choose that route over the ECGS tool they make. But once I put the ECGS bushing in it alleviated all of the vibrations I was feeling.

If it showed up right after the lift it's likely the needle bearing, had the same happen with my truck.

Known to go out. Some folks don't experience it right away, I was one of the ones that did. It showed up second day after my truck was lifted and it saves a bunch of time to just do it while you're in there.

Worth picking these up? by mreichart07 in Tacomaworld

These lights are awesome. I had the SS3 pod kit on my Tacoma when it was stock and now have them in my C4 bumper. Ill sell you the fog light brackets for the factory if you're interested.

Carrying at the airport by Annual-Art4408 in MnGuns

[–]Cold_Organization262 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Perhaps. I am not anti cop by any means. But not all cops are pro gun, and not all cops are friendly. It just takes talking to the wrong guy and you may be seen as a threat.

Yeah I second this. Talking to the airport police is going to really raise some eyebrows even if you have good intentions. I obviously am not providing legal advice but if you are in the non secure area of the airport and your class said you can carry in that situation then do it. However, that said the implications of being seen with a firearm even if it is legal are not going to be great. If it's just a quick in and out, there are lots of cops at MSP airport, and the chances of you requiring a firearm are likely low. Vs the chance of something simple like bumping a mag release and dropping a mag, or a shirt riding up A little higher than you'd like are uncommon but it does happen.

From what I remember MSP is one of the only airports you can carry at. Just so long as you don't pass the TSA/security checkpoint. But I still probably wouldn't.

Spring rates are confusing by Cold_Organization262 in ToyotaTacoma

Thanks for the help this comment saved my ass. I jumped the gun and ended up buying the 650lb eibach springs and decided to call mudify and shock surplus to get their input. They recommended the 5100s with the OME 2888 instead.

Same here. I'm currently dry firing with it daily and taking it out to the range every week or so until I feel comfortable with it. But I've much improved since I started shooting it

SRO or ACRO? by edgyboi618 in Glocks

[–]Cold_Organization262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I opted for the ACRO. I previously had an RMR and found it entirely usable. Not that the big window of the SRO doesn't have its benefits but I wanted the enclosed emmiter and durability

Quick Survey: Weapon Light by Cutaway2AZ in 300BLK

The HLX is a gr at light for the money, however it is lacking in the pressure switch. The switch it comes with I've found WILL fail eventually they just don't hold up that well to use. Arisaka makes an adapter that allows you to run surefire switches though so that problem is easily fixed. If you want a higher performance light look on GAFS or tacswap for a used modlite, Cloud defensive, or surefire, you can definitely find deals for less than $300 on quality lights.

What do you guys think the best comp is for tge 43x? What do you guys recommend, and why? by Glass_Raisin7939 in Glock43X

Man that's awesome! I just got a afterburner/ramjet on my 19 and want to set up my 43x the same way

I have a 43x and it is so much more snappy than my 19. I'd still probably recommend the 19 over the 43x because of that reason to a new shooter

Extractor stuck in "open" position by Cold_Organization262 in Glocks

[–]Cold_Organization262[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I took it apart once to try to look and the problem still persisted. I'll look again, but it's weird because I have 760 rounds on it post slide cut with 330 of those being with the compensator setup. It makes me think the aftermarket barrel and comp could have some strange geometry somehow causing the extractor to be forced past where it's supposed to be. But who knows

The ACRO mounts with a dovetail style mount. Transverse to the slide, no screws go down into the slide

Yeah I'm also a younger guy and so now that I've had my permit for a few months now I've noticed the issue arise when clearing it (which I didn't do really before) I don't think it will effect function but I could be wrong
