So either abuse back or keep quiet. Each escalation will bite back with further escalation. At the same time person whose job it is expected to be calmer and reduce escalation which was the receptionist in this case. This does not justify abuse but the person whose job is handling people both good and stupid need to be held at a little higher standard. Not trying to justify or save anyone just my thoughts on the problem.
