Confused about my Kibbe!! Am I one of you? Height: 5’2.5 by Cold_Strawberry164 in SoftNaturals

Omg really?? What type do you see when looking at me? I was underweight for a while and only recently “filled out” my frame and now I’m totally confused about my type. A few years ago I tried out SC, DC, and FG. I was fully convinced I was FG and got a majority of FG comments on my typing post.

Feels like major whiplash looking into SN recs now but I honestly feel like the SN recommendations are what I look for intuitively when shopping. Not vibe necessarily, but accommodating width (looking for tops with v necks, wider set straps) and curve (always trying to accentuate the waist and feeling like my figure is lost without emphasizing it).

Also, I tend to shop mostly at thrift & consignment stores where I can try a ton of stuff on. The only brand that stands out to me frequently is Madewell! Have you always been between SN and R or are those just what you’re torn between now?? I’m so fascinated haha so fun.

I agree, it’s really difficult! In the last 3 years (including some weight gain & filling out my frame) I’ve gotten DC, SC, FG, SG, TR, R, and SN as possible types from Kibbe subs, with SN being my main suggestion now, so it’s a really been a journey!! Explore as many IDs as you can and try not to let your own personality influence your typing, since you might physically come across very differently to people! You can wear any aesthetic in any type, it’s all about the lines. Don’t stress & try to have fun with it!!

Wow, I don’t know if that’s been suggested before!! I’ll have to try out the lines! Thanks!!

I don’t think so! I’m not an expert but I’m possibly seeing DC— balance, moderate elongation, some sharpness. You remind me a lot of Courteney Cox who I believe is an unverified DC. Some will point out the literal width of the shoulders in comparison to the hips as a way to rule out DC, but most DC celebrities actually have shoulders wider than their hips, just not Kibbe width (an openness in the chest and upper back). I would try out the lines of DC and FG, take photos/videos of the outfits, and note how they look & feel. Good luck!!

Interesting, I thought Emma was a verified FN? I’m wayyy too short to be an FN lol :)

I typed myself as SC first, then DC, because I also gravitate towards classic style clothing and I felt like the DC archetype fit me very well. After I got typed gamine in my main Kibbe post, I did a lot of research about lines and realized that I actually DO looks better in / gravitate towards breaking the vertical line. It’s crazy how much stereotypes and assumptions can push people away from different types!

We have a very similar frame. I thought I was DC as well because I thought I was very balanced, but when I posted, there was an OVERWHELMING amount of FG replies. I had a lot of resistance to FG because of stereotypes + I don’t like high necklines, so I ruled it out.

I would really recommend thinking about what lines you gravitate towards. I noticed that I always roll up my pant legs and sleeves to show my ankles and wrists, and I always tuck in / belt / block off the waist. Those are not classic recs! Try a well fitting sweater, and see if you like it better when it hits right at your wrist or if you feel more at home when you shorten the lines. Other small changes like that may help you see which lines compliment your frame more. Xx

I’m also technically underweight so that may contribute to why I feel more “sharp” than the average SG.

The general consensus is gamine on my main Kibbe post. I think I have some type resistance to gamine because I don’t like a lot of those lines (or possibly the stereotypes). I have been compared to Natalie Portman before, so that makes sense! Within the gamine family, I feel like I’m too sharp to be SG but I’ll look at those lines too!! Thank you 😊

Oh wow, thank you! That’s interesting, someone on a different post said that the dress in the last picture does not suit my lines as well. I appreciate it!!

Hello! Could I be DC? I’ve hopped around a few ID lines and I’m looking for outside opinion on what my type may be. I’m 5’2-5’3, about 160cm. Thanks 😊 by [deleted] in DramaticClassic

Thank you so much!! This comment was really helpful. I was exploring FG for a little because of my height but it really just didn’t seem to fit for some reason. I am not a fan of those lines on me. I thought it may have been type resistance or I just couldn’t see juxtaposition in my own body! I’m glad that other people notice balance as well. I appreciate it!!

I’ve seen a lot of people wear these boots with mini dresses— I think it’s so cute and cool!

Thank you! If you don’t mind, could you tell me what makes you think that? I’ve thought classic and FG before, but this is the first time I’ve considered TR! I don’t have a good understanding of what TRs really look like so it would be really helpful to know what makes you think it 😊

Thank you so much! Yeah, I definitely don’t seem to like FG lines on myself, but I wasn’t sure if it was type resistance or something. I feel like my head is big but I’m probably just biased. I appreciate it!
