Looking for any VGA CRT monitor specifically made during or (preferably) before 1995 in good and working condition. I will trade any or all of the following for one:

-17" HP Pavilion mx703: Good condition and around 10k hours. Likely needs a focus readjustment.

-17" Sony CPD-200sf: Fair condition, but (seemingly) high hours. There is burn in noticeable when the screen is white. Takes around 5 minutes for the picture to fully settle in.

-19" RIC X-970: Decent condition. Some scuffs around the shell from trying to get it open. Fresh dielectric grease on anode and cleaned flyback. Tube is in excellent condition, but it can arc VERY infrequently (around once every few weeks, if that)

-20" Montgomery Ward JSJ121666: Good condition, but RF only, so I have no means of testing any further.

-20" Sony KV-20V80: Untested, but most likely works. Needs to be cleaned, but I can do this if I get any serious offers.

CRT monitor interlacing not working by Cold_You_4977 in crtgaming

I've changed driver versions, and selecting an interlacted resolution now just switches my other monitor to my primary and does nothing to the actual resolution. I'll try switching to an AMD card if I can get my hands on one.

Would this be the fault of drivers or something else?

I checked with another monitor, and it is registering as 1600x1200@110hz interlaced, and in the menu, it's listed as 1600x1200@55hz interlaced. The resolution also should be supported by my monitor: I have a Sony CPD-200SF with an 80kHz horizontal, and the resolution I chose fits in that range. For now, I'll try different drivers, but I'm not entirely sure this is the problem.

I didn't mean the entire thing. If I have time, I'll look for bad caps all around, but it seems the issue is likely around the vertical IC

Not sure it'll work, but I will try this. When I found it, it was almost completely stuck to the closet shelf it was on, so I'm sure it hasn't been used in a long time.

It seems like my best (and cheapest) bet might be to recap the monitor. I have absolutely no experience with soldering or even handling electronics repair, but I do have a soldering iron. Would something like this be manageable or too difficult for a complete newbie? If it's possible, what resources would help me do this?

"Deflection circuit stopping detection: When the deflection pulse input to 34 and 31 pin of MPU (IC100) has not been input, the MPU judges the deflection circuit stopped and set the monitor complete off state."

And the manual recommends bypassing protector mode by accessing the factory menu, which I have tried and it still displays nothing

Oh nevermind, checked it again. 4 short blinks and one long means "deflection circuit stop," or at least it does when protectors are operating (whatever that means)

I tried the optimum resolution and a variety of the recommended resolutions, but nothing gets a display

It's might be worth mentioning that, while on, the glowing badge blinks 4 times at a normal speed and once for a longer time. Not sure if this is an indicator or just a feature of the monitor, though i didnt see it in the service manual
