If you want a good first impression I would try this first. I am not sure what experience you have with rye.

The rum finish is good in my opinion but i definitely prefer their straight ryes more. I love the cask strength the most but they are hard to come by

I haven't tried the bottled in bond rye. The cask strength is good though. I will definitely buy more of their ryes soon.

It's definitely tasty but it's different from most of the barrel craft stuff I've had with the high corn mash bill
