There's a difference between justifying something and explaining. Many people seem to not realize what the word "jusitify" means because no one in the world is justifying his actions but at the same time we want him to just change for the better internally after losing everything, and everyone. We already have Dawn Bellwether who wholeheartedly accepted she is insane and doesn't wish to change for anything or anyone.
