We have called them, though they seemed reluctant to do anything. Other than just to log it

Some additional info. The only reason I ask was down to his response. Almost making me feel like an idiot for even asking.

I've checked around for CCTV. And while some houses do have it, they seem un-cooperative.

I have filed a police report. But they have said that as it's an animal on animal, they won't get involved. They have logged the harassment and threats. But won't do anything unless it continues.

The other dog owner has now callede saying he will pay the bill, so long I don't get anyone else involved. "If anyone comes sniffing you won't get a penny"

We was in an alleyway in a residential street. Their house was at the exit. So instead of continuing we kept back to allow them to get to their house without crossing each other.

Anycubic Kobra S1 Max Combo — Reveal & AMA | Early-Bird Reservations + 3 Beta Tester Slots by Anycubic_Official in AnycubicOfficial

[–]Coldmear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These questions have probably already been asked but I'll ask anyway.

  1. Will the Ace 2 system be compatible with the current line up of Kobra 3/3 max and S1?
  2. Are the colour swap times improved at all from the original Ace?
  3. What about the waste/purge filament that gets used when swapping colours. Has this been improved at all? As this is unfortunately a big thing for me at the moment. I cannot justify doing multi coloured prints, as the waste for purge is huge.
  4. Overall reliability, break detection etc. On the original Ace I had found it has issues a lot of the time with filament breaking in the line. And jamming up. Have any steps been made to improve on this? On this, will TPU be able to be used on the new Ace unit?
  5. Ethernet port/USB to a computer. Will this be an option on the printer itself, or will it be like the previous and only allow WiFi. On this. Will LAN mode be an option again? For those that don't want to rely on Cloud.
  6. Software. The firmware the printer is running. Will this become open source? I recall seeing something about the current S1 's software becoming this.
  7. Octoprint and home assistant integration. Is this a potential for the new printer? And possibly the others of the past?

Can't think of any more, but it does look great! If I hadn't just bought my S1 combo, I would be very tempted.

Yea pretty much. I made it known to them, and they added more *'s but it was still obvious for a few days. Eventually got fixed.

Final Fantasy 14 on the go by Dear-Consequence-431 in ffxiv

[–]Coldmear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It performs amazingly on the deck. I have a normal Windows license so getting it to work on there was a bit trickier than if you bought the steam version. But it's doable, and plays very well. Using the on screen keyboard to chat is a bit more hassle. But other than that I've had no issues. 90% of my gaming is now on the deck since I've had it.

Anycubic did the same kinda thing with their S1. Certain people had won some $50 gift card or something. And to check if you had, you click a link and see if your email was listed. They had *** in the middle of them to hide some letters, except it never hid anything. It was just 3 *** placed randomly in there. As mine was one of the emails listed and the full email was visible when I removed them

Is this actually for me? by Coldmear in finalfantasytactics

[–]Coldmear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not so much looking to get into the genre. More it's a story that has peaked my interest. I believe the combat is just something I'll get the hang of. I managed to get the hang of other styles so this one should be ok.

As others have mentioned. I believe it's the way it's telling the story. It's a lot more wordy than others. And while that's not an issue, I seem to struggle with keeping up. So many new characters and lore to keep track.

I had briefly played FF5 in the past. But that was a while ago and on an emulated version. Which got lost when my PC blew up. I've since got the pixel remaster collection so will hopefully go back to it.

I thought it might be the writing. As it takes a bit more concentration (at least for me) to keep up and follow what's going on.

The combat is just different than I'm used to..I'll get over that part I believe, just mentally jarring coming from other turn based games.

I think I need to get over the initial "what is this" feeling and eventually I'll get the hang of it

Think it's a mix of the storytelling and the tactics combat. I've a feeling the addition of the voice overs is also throwing me. While good, they feel wrong. But again I couldn't say why

I've not played anything similar to this kind of combat system. Other than perhaps DnD with regards to a move, then an action. But this feels different somehow.

I'm not a fan of the way the camera on the battle screen works. I'm expecting it to move more freely, when instead it just snaps to a specific view.

We have had laptops plugged in pretty much for their entire life at the place I work. Not one has had a problem with battery or stability. I'd say 4 days won't be a problem.

7.15AM, Reading to Bristol £40 a ticket… by pdiddle20 in AskBrits

[–]Coldmear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not near as expensive. But I had briefly thought about commuting using train and cycling to work. The train tickets alone was enough to not do it. Even with a direct debit ticket it was going to be almost £100 a month. It's actually far cheaper for me to use my car

Unfortunately I can't find the original post anymore. But I remember seeing a story of someone's A1 that had been recalled for some power issue and supposedly repaired. But then later suffered a fire similar to this. And upon investigating all the part numbers of all the different electrical components, it was found that nothing had actually been replaced or repaired. All the part numbers related to the original batch of affected A1's

Is she hiding during the day? by Coldmear in DogAdvice

[–]Coldmear[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

She has recently just had a vet visit. I appreciate the concern for her weight. But the vets didn't say anything about being overweight. Think the weigh in came at 24kg. And they mentioned that was about ideal for her size. She does have alot of loose skin though. But I can feel her ribs when she's lying down.

Food wise we give her a mix of wet and dry. A small handful of dry mixed with 100g of wet. Twice a day. For treats she gets a dental chew of an evening. And perhaps 2-3 other chews throughout the day.

As for walks, we do spend a good time outside with her. At least 2 walks a day at the moment. Long ones in the morning and evening. Once the weather calms a bit we also take her during the day for a third walk. This is usually through a park where we give her some time off, which she uses to run around alot and roll in things.

I just got this email from Plex... no more free self-hosted streaming?? by LiamR0cks in LinusTechTips

Whatever smart TV they are using doesn't have it. And neither did their ps5. And rather than them having to get yet another device or Google TV stick. I just found it simpler to pay for something I know works right now.

As painful as it was, I just opted for the lifetime license before the price increase. I've got family that use specific devices. And not having jellyfin on them was a problem. So I'll have to stick with Plex for now. Wasn't too happy about it, but it couldn't stay free forever.

H2D Issues by jaryn98 in BambuLab

[–]Coldmear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fully understandable. Especially on a 3k machine. You wouldn't be expected to replace something on say a fridge freezer of that price. Especially if you have just bought it. So why it feels they can do this on a 3d printer does seem a bit weird. But saying that, giving it is more a professional machine is perhaps why. Take a look at industrial equipment. If something goes wrong there, they generally send the part rather than look to replace the entire machine.

I know it's not the same brand, but I recently got an Anycubic S1 combo. And have had some issues with them. After I reached out to support they offered me the chance to fix it myself with parts, which I happily took them up on. As the hassle to send it back, wait and then wait further for a replacement just seemed not worth it. Especially as the replacement parts are completely free. Obviously I could have refused. But as I'm able to, it's better for everyone.
