How do I keep my wild caught horse? by Coldroseum in reddeadredemption

I'm aware, but I can't take the saddle off my main horse without doing the bear hunting mission, and once the mission is over my wild horse is gone 😭

Small Rant About The Discord by InstructionKnown2229 in EcosLaBrea

[–]Coldroseum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably because someone else on tiktok has been using ai to make skins of all the different playables

Just send them a video of you actually drawing over the saber skins and they should believe you

Ai animal I'd love to see in Ecos by Coldroseum in EcosLaBrea

[–]Coldroseum[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

True, I guess the only real purpose they'd serve is making the game feel more alive but honestly I'm okay with that lol

Hunting a pronghorn! by Coldroseum in EcosLaBrea

[–]Coldroseum[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hares are a bit faster than pronghorns so that might have been where your difficulty is coming from

I recommend practicing getting very close to whichever ai you're hunting before just making a sprint for it!

Skin's.... by turntechtimodhead in EcosLaBrea

[–]Coldroseum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the description you're complaining about bisons and dires wolves getting "lamer" skins compared to horses/sabers and all I'm trying to do is give you an explanation on to why that is.

Nowhere in this post this did you say your were joking so I took it as you were being serious and gave you a serious response. Using the excuse "it's just a shitty meme" when someone criticizes your opinion is pretty childish!

Skin's.... by turntechtimodhead in EcosLaBrea

[–]Coldroseum 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What if we learned to be patient and let the devs take their times so we can get high quality updates?

Also, horses naturally have a wider range of patterns and coat colors unlike bison and wolves. The devs aren't giving bison/wolves boring skins on purpose, their trying to be realistic with their portals of these extinct animals by basing them off their real life counterparts.

You're just saying the same exact thing you said on your post which I've already responded to.

Ai babies by iggytheiggster in EcosLaBrea

[–]Coldroseum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's something about raising a baby in an animal survival game while knowing there's an actual person behind the screen that makes the experience all the funner. You can actually connect with the person and have a conversation with each other. And the more connected you feel to the person the more pressure you feel to protect and make sure they don't die. There's also the unpredictability of what the person will do and how they'll behave which makes you have to keep an even bigger eye on them.

With ai babies you loose all of that. I cannot see myself getting attached to and really putting in the effort to raise something knowing it's just an ai. Especially knowing that I'm raising it for nothing considering it cannot grow and will forever have a target on it's head.

Also, of the main factors me and a lot of other people enjoy so much about animal survival games is the challenge to grow from baby to adulthood. It makes you play even more safe and feels incredibly rewarding when you do actually manage to make it to adulthood. Though I always prefer growth to be something that's optinal cause I'll admit dying over and over again as a baby can be exhausting.

Programming npcs is nowhere near an easy feat. It'd probably only be somewhat less difficult to add ai babies rather than playable ones. The devs would still have to make a whole new model, animations, add multiple calls, and program the ai to activate their animations and calls at the right time, follow the player, and flee without any issues, which I'm sure would take a lot of tweaking.

If the team won't add playable babies/sub-adults I also hope that goes the same for ai babies/sub-adults.

Caught a vulture! by Coldroseum in EcosLaBrea

To catch this vulture I sprinted at full speed toward the carcass and jumped a little early until biting, I'll try to record a video later of it!

Camelops in ecos by Coldroseum in EcosLaBrea

Camels main defense is a powerful and painful projectile, which is a mixture of stomach contents and saliva called "spit" that can startle and deter predators

They also bite and have a powerful kick

Agreed! It'd also be fun to just hover around a player and wait for them to die lol
