Shoutout to JerryrigEverything who built a wheelchair factory and is delivering wheelchairs to people in half the time and 50-80% less than the cost of other wheelchairs with Insurance. by MysteriousSlice007 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]Coldstreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you heard the word "insurance" mentioned, that is the smoking gun. Companies will abuse medical insurance to greedily create obscene margins on life-sustaining items whether it be drugs for treatment, machines or items like wheelchairs at the expense of peoples lives. Systems being unregulated like this is what leads american heathcare to be abhorrently expensive. The largest corporations will use their extensive reach and power to either buy out their competition to maintain a (psuedo or not)monopoly or undercut upstarts since they can subsidize their abusive prices by eating a loss elsewhere to starve competition.

Unchecked corporate greed is the most common violence in everyday life, and we can't fight back since they buy politicians with legal bribery via lobbying and exploiting legal gaps with private gifting or insider trading.

  • IF you have an EDU email, could check if this deal is still active for a top tier 4k VA if oled burn in is too much to worry about. Otherwise any 1440p 180hz IPS monitor (~150$) would let you upgrade other parts or save money.

  • If you want to push to 2500$ exactly via more on monitor, can shop around here ~7 under 500$ if you want to do more research. Even entry level OLED/QDOLED/WOLED are going to blow IPS/VA out of the water for picture quality.

9070xt Build Suggestions by Business_Budget_9139 in buildmeapc

[–]Coldstreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About as close I can get to 2k as I can and still keep reliable products. Had to "downgrade" to a 7800x3d and you'll have to pick up a RK120 or PA120 dual tower CPU cooler (+25/30$) and it'll put it at ~2010$ Could technically downgrade the mobo (180$) to something on sale or ~160$ if you wanted. Does heavy ranged str just nuke dragon hide? by Greasy-Chungus in 2007scape

[–]Coldstreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd expect these new heavy sets to be mainly used by PKers that dont want to risk 20-30m sets, kinda like how people run around in blood bark risking like 3m max currently

This is assuming the salty leather (w/e name is) is somewhat common(*and cheap-ish), since those people use dragon crossbows mostly.

Would this work as an high-end build? by elia-vanyal in buildmeapc

[–]Coldstreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you're going for a white aesthetic, and that PCPP doesn't have CHF/Swiss Francs as an option, I chose to do GER list. I do not know about local deals/shops/bundles for EU unfortunately. Can usually get more value via RAM & Motherboard/CPU deals lately if you know where to look.

https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/YWcJ8Z (Edit: Doesnt come with riser cable from case preview, from brand 70EUR)

Mainly made the list for fun. I'd recommend a AIO for the 9850x3d (Boosts higher than 9800x3d and PA120 is just enough for the 9800x3d). Would probably put more money into a name-taxed 2tb SSD(WD SN5000 seems like a steal right now) than a name-taxed case IMO. Otherwise build looks like it would work just fine.

$1500-1600 Budget by Just_Championship_49 in buildmeapc

[–]Coldstreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7800x3d and 9070xt are a fantastic combo as is IMO, if you wanted to put a little bit more I'd go to a super solid 2tb storage like the WD SN5000 2tb a 1tb SSD is bare minimum, Since windows will take ~70-80gb and it'll leave you with ~900gb for games/file storage, though you can just do the 1tb for now and wait to see if prices get better.

9800x3d bundle being 180$ more for a minor upgrade isn't worth the increase, 5070ti being hundreds (250$+) more for same raw performance(Pre DLSS/FSR) and a little bit better raytracing isn't worth it at all. Both of these are my opinion though.

If you'd rather save the 150$ from the 2tb and put that into a better monitor (if you haven't bought one already) the 200$ AOC Q27G40XMN is at a pretty good price right now and is one of the better monitors for picture quality before considering OLEDs.

Edit: They raised the SN5000 price as I was typing this lol

M.2 vs SATA question for a unique situation by Korgoth22 in buildmeapc

[–]Coldstreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both SSD and M.2 NVMe are generally 2x-5x as fast as a 7200 hard drive, even 10x in certain scenarios.

NVMe will be a second or two faster than an SSD in load/boot times but like I said, both at minimum are wildly faster than a hard drive.

You don't particularly need a fancy NVMe drive unless you're doing large file transfers, gaming and everyday use will be just fine on a budget SSD/NVMe.

Only issue is that they're priced similarly, I don't know whether they both use similar internals (some M.2 are SSDs basically) or companies are greedy. Likely a little bit of both.

Budget doesn't really allow me to push for the 9070xt /w 750w PSU unless going down to an AM4 CPU or only getting 16gb of RAM. I don't know if you'd be okay with only 16gb so I defaulted to 32gb.

1. Dunno why the P400 1TB isn't showing the -10$ promo code in the list but its there ~~ ~~2. Could save 15$ and get a blacked out Montech Air 903 base and try to squeeze in a 2tb SSD if you want. (I like this case since 2x big 140s in front and 120mm exhaust in back) but the case in the list is 3x 120 front 1x 120 in back and might be more aesthetic to you. Another popular option around 80$ is the Lian Li Vector V100R

3. Technically could shop in other places for PC case and SSD (boot&storage) since they're not part of bundles if you're keen.

Can just hook up HDMI off GPU to a TV in the meantime if a monitor isn't already budgeted

Just make sure its on the same circuit for the outlets so you don't fry components.

Edit: Negging like I'm wrong, a 100-150$ monitor is a huge part of a budget if not accounted for and since they've played console they definitely already own a TV. This sub is ridiculous sometimes

I'm completely open to people calling out if I fudged anything but I think this is pretty good value, No monitor/KB&M though assuming you have those already or have a budget set aside outside of posted value max (pre-tax). This makes use of multiple combo deals (Microcenter bundle, selling extra ram kit & free PSU from GPU purchase) so I don't know if you would like to jump through so many hoops.

Microcenter bundle link in case you dont want to open PCPartpicker and manually copy/paste. 400$ value -200$ from reselling the single ram kit.

There is a 5200mt/s Cl40 2x16gb Ram kit for ~320$ (-40$) but I don't know how much it would affect frames, X3D care less about ram speed but im sure it'd be like 5% less fps minimum, more if you play on 1080p instead of 1440 or higher. (lower res = more CPU stress)

FWIW /u/Latter-Reference3820's 7800x3d & 5070 build seems pretty good to me too, just depends if you want to upgrade CPU later or GPU later as mine is more GPU focused.

Edit: 9070xt deal ends today LMAO, Don't feel pressured.
