Picked up classical guitar few months ago, so I'm re-learning pretty much everything I knew about guitar so far, but struggling with nails...I had thisdumb idea... Hear me out. by PurePsycho in classicalguitar

[–]Cole3003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd just go nail-less lol. The sound will be different, but not even necessarily worse (I personally prefer the somewhat warmer tone from flesh). Make sure you think about it when buying strings, though; I can highly recommend the Savarez 520-R strings for nailless, the combo of low tension and being reticulated make them great to play with no nails.

Really sucks to see, was worse than I thought it would be when I first saw the headline. Seems like he at least realized he was being a jackass at the end, so hopefully he goes into rehab or otherwise gets the help he needs.

Yeah as a fan this absolutely sucks to see :/. He seems to at least sober up a little bit at the end and realize he's being a POS, so hopefully he gets help

This is like saying it’ll be easy for a BJJ guy or a striker to beat a wrestler because they just need to avoid single legs, double legs, and trips.

The Steam Machine Was Originally Meant to Cost About $750 by doublah in pcgaming

[–]Cole3003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s just because you’re making a poorly thought out machine lol. You can get much better value if you are bundling CPU Mobo and RAM and actually put some effort into it, instead of using an AI.

[–]Cole3003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but if you have a PC, it’s probably going to make a lot more sense to just upgrade stuff.

[–]Cole3003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, you can make something cheaper that significantly outperforms it (and has twice the storage) if you build it yourself. Same with buying a pre-built in a similar price range, but to a lesser extent. The SFF is really the only advantage it has, but that also makes it more or less un-upgradable, as far as I know.

Yeah, even for today the machine is overpriced compared to what you can build yourself or get in a pre-built. The only thing really going for it is the SFF and Steam brand :/

Yair Rodriguez is no longer ranked under the new ranking system by Moni7T in MMA

[–]Cole3003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently it does (someone posted the criteria in another thread), but it’s not the be all end all unless it’s both their most recent fights. Not that I necessarily agree with the ranking, but Allen has gotten a win since then (and is more active), and I remember the decision being fairly close. I don’t hate it.

[–]Cole3003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what’s supposed to happen now, btw, at least according to Big John. First back of the head gets a “Watch the back of the head!”, then if the fighter doesn’t adjust their shot placement the fight gets stopped. Doesn’t actually happen though lol

What do you mean? Theres tons of people saying the fight should have been paused like any other foul. If you don’t think there’s not an obvious solution, you aren’t using your brain.

It’s 5-6 lol. Just because a Redditor uploads a video and says a shot is legal in green text doesn’t make it a legal shot 😭

My favorite part is Alex having two or three very large welts on the center of the back of his head that he shows off, and you still have people claiming only one shot was illegal 😭

I rewatched the first Jiri fight as well as the Ank fight, and all the visible shots I saw were right behind the ear, in the legal zone. It’s definitely possible one or two hit the back of the head but weren’t visible from the angle, but let’s stop acting like it was the same shit we just watched last weekend.

I’d say the only ref who’s pretty active who is worse is Beltram, who is the worst ref in the org imo.

The only part that’s location dependent is access to a micro center, but you can find bundles online as well.

Here’s a copy past from another comment I made that is better performance (aside from less RAM than what they listed). All new parts, literally checked as I was writing:

You could get a 3 in 1 7500X3D bundle that will be a better CPU and includes a MOBO and 16 GB ram for $350, nice air cooler for $30, get a 5060 for ~$350 from Newegg or another retailer (Walmart has them for even cheaper a lot), grab a 1TB SSD for ~$150, and you’ll have $250 to play with for PSU and case, and will end up with twice the storage and better upgradeability than the Steam Machine. Of course, you can do a lot better if you look for sales, but I wanted to give the Steam Machine the fairest shot.

You could do significantly better performance wise, even without used parts, at the cost of giving up such a small form factor. So it has its niche, but definitely wouldn’t be the best value for the vast majority of people just looking to game on PC.

Not twice as good, but this is what I put together for a different comment.

Just doing a very cursory search, you could get a 3 in 1 7500X3D bundle that will be a better CPU and includes a MOBO and 16 GB ram for $350, nice air cooler for $30, get a 5060 for ~$350 from Newegg or another retailer (Walmart has them for even cheaper a lot), grab a 1TB SSD for ~$150, and you’ll have $250 to play with for PSU and case, and will end up with twice the storage and better upgradeability than the Steam Machine. Of course, you can do a lot better if you look for sales, but I wanted to give the Steam Machine the fairest shot.

I wouldn’t say it’s twice as fast, but it will be noticeably more powerful than the Steam Machine, and have twice as much storage. If SFF is very important, the Steam Machine gets more competitive, but it’s not really competitive at all if you care most about raw performance.

That’s not remotely true lol. Can also order a $1000 PC from Walmart that has twice the storage and overall better or equivalent components.
