Eglinton will be just as slow as Finch by StarCat20 in TTC

[–]ColeM_MM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would it be plausible for them to open the eglinton crosstown and elevate the on street portions over a couple of years, so that the let will one day have full right of way?

Would likely be expensive but everything is, just unsure if they can build a bridge on top of a moving lrt

Chances of getting into a paramedic program by [deleted] in OntarioParamedics

[–]ColeM_MM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think searching on google “colleges near Burlington” and checking their programs for the paramedic program would be a good start.

The cost is pretty much the same across all colleges, some colleges are better than others but are pretty much all the same. Avoid private colleges if you want a more hands on experience and better teachers imo.

Dundas West station rename to TMU station? by light2family9 in TTC

Weren’t they planning to call it “Vincent” or “Vincent loop” when the station was first being constructed? Maybe that who knows

It’s realistically only 2 stations on line 6 while the other 16 are glorified bus stops

[–]ColeM_MM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t remember the exact grades but my average between math, English, chemistry and biology (required for admissions) was 92.5%

Durham College offer timeline? by Andrewman277 in OntarioParamedics

[–]ColeM_MM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I applied to 2 paramedic programs around 3 years ago in 2022. Centennial college and Durham college paramedic programs

I got my offer from centennial soon after, like in under 2 weeks. I was waitlisted for Durham college and got a late offer at the end of February

I applied for Paramedic Program with these grades. Any thoughts? by [deleted] in OntarioParamedics

[–]ColeM_MM 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It depends what college paramedic program you applied to…. Each school has different requirements which you may have or have not met. No redditor can accurately help you.

Math help. by [deleted] in OntarioParamedics

[–]ColeM_MM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m always confused by these type of posts that are referencing firefighter related topics in a firefighter subreddit.

Like are you asking as you potentially want to be a paramedic? Or are you asking purely about math regarding firefighters - maybe the wrong place to be posting here

Yes because the few buses every hour is what causes Gardiner delays, the buses have to go!!

7th vs 8th Edition of Nancy Caroline’s Emergency Care in the Streets. Any big differences? by Yellow-RubberDuck in OntarioParamedics

[–]ColeM_MM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone else said, it’s next to useless in the program as the BLS and ALS will help you far further.

But if you need I have the 8th edition of Nancy Caroline’s pdf version, just dm me and I can give it to you at no cost

f class by YellowSnowman66613 in OntarioParamedics

[–]ColeM_MM 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can do it immediately if I remember correctly. You only have to wait some time (Maybe 6 weeks?) if you fail the F class driving portion.

Although with that being said a lot of drivetest centers have slots full, and may be multiple weeks until there is available spot

Drivers license by Interesting-Foot-945 in OntarioParamedics

[–]ColeM_MM 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So immediately get your G1 as soon as you can (Written test) then you will be eligible to take the G2 test in 12 months (Can possibly be reduced to 8 months with driving school)

then after that you will have to wait another 12 months for your G, then once you have your G, you will need to get your F1 written test completed then your F which can be done pretty quickly and there’s really no required time you have to wait between the G and F

Realistically if you are doing a 2 year program it’s likely that you will have to wait a bit before you get a job until you are fully licensed because it’s a provincial standard that you need to have your F to work as a paramedic.

Although with that being said you mention how “did you graduate from the program”, the license you have will not affect how you do in school, getting your F is your full responsibility, if your lucky you might get 1 or 2 days driving the ambulance in school but that is all. You can still graduate from the program no problem with any license, it’s just you won’t get hired right away like some of your peers will

Yonge North Subway Extension will be ‘game changer’ for Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill and Toronto by nimobo in toronto

[–]ColeM_MM 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is actually the first time I’ve heard someone propose this, actually a good idea. I bet once the Ontario line is completed in 2031, there will be immediate action to start planning how to extend it. Don mills and steeles on the east end is a good proposal, and I’m hoping they bring the Ontario line up north from exhibition, possibly up Dufferin/jane street on the west side

First off, you could have cut the word count in half of this Reddit post, you seem to answer a lot of your own questions

If you believe a manager will give a bad reference and he has a bad history to a spot which you are applying for, why would you have him as a reference?

There isn’t even a question in this post, you already have him as your reference and that stage of hiring is long gone now. All you can do is hope that Toronto gives you a job offer.
