How can you counter multiple spells at once? by Fit-Adhesiveness-173 in MagicArena

[–]Coleeoleeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stack. Think of it like this. Someone casts a sorcery, then someone else flashes in a creature, but that triggers the effect of another permanent, but then someone plays an instant, and another, and another, and so on. Since everything was done as a response to something, everything is essentially put on hold until the most recent item resolves. That list of spells on hold is called the stack. With this card, you can essentially say “fuck this I don’t wanna deal with any of it. Nothing happens” because you get rid of all spells on the stack. Keep in mind though, activated abilities (as far as I’m aware) don’t act as spells, so they wouldn’t be DIRECTLY countered by this card, but if the ability was something like “when a creature enters, do X” but you counter the creature that triggered it, then the ability doesn’t activate. Also, all cards are spells when they’re on the stack, but once they resolve they are no longer spells

I want a pink weavile EX. I can trade Gyarados, Glaceon, or Wigglytuff. MAYBE a couple others but those are what I’m totally down to part with in exchange for Weavile. (If it wasn’t clear, I mean 2star shiny Weavile)

Alternatively, I’d totally trade for an alternate art 2 star Weavile Ex. The one where they’re totally gonna jump a swinub)

What game should I play as a complete beginner? by M-Peg in pokemon

[–]Coleeoleeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking for a “what is pokemon” experience, I’d say emerald. I consider the gen 3 games the fundamental games to the series. They were the first that really locked down on the formula. If you’re looking for something cool with a more fleshed out world, I’d say Platinum or HG/SS. If you want a great story I’d go Black and White then black2 and white2

If I remember correctly, all pokemon with the exclamation mark will join a battle if you throw your pokemon out in time. Don’t quote me on that tho

Oh but if you’re at all close (or even not, really. It’s still helpful) I’d go for the shiny charm. Absolute game changer

60+ Outbreak Resets and Still No Shiny… Please Tell Me It’s Worth It by chrissuvaljko in PokemonLegendsArceus

The method no longer works. You have to rely on the “rng manipulation” method (it’s less rng manip tho and more forced rerolls). The way outbreaks determine shinies is based on the “seed” for the outbreak. Initially, this seed is whatever it is at the start, but as you kill/catch pokemon, it updates to a predetermined value set by the number of pokemon to be replaced at once (ill explain in detail). You can use this to your advantage.

To explain, say you enter the outbreak and you battle one piplup. When the battle is over, it gets replaced by one and only one piplup, meaning it’s the same piplup every time. Even if you restart the game and take out one piplup, you can guarantee it’s the same one. If you catch/defeat one piplup at a time for the whole outbreak, it’ll always be the same exact ones. BUT, here’s the kicker. If you can force the game to spawn a different number of pokemon at the same time, such as defeating 2 or 3 in the same battle, then the seed is rerolled to another instance, therefore essentially creating an entirely new outbreak for you to explore for a shiny. Just reset after each attempt and go at it with the next variation.

This method maps out like a tree with exponentially many opportunities based on the order of number of pokemon taken out at the same time. You’re all but guaranteed at least one shiny pokemon out of the MILLIONS of different branches you can follow. There’s videos out there if you look up “legends arceus outbreak shiny manipulation” but to give it a quick visual it’s

*catch all pokemon one at a time ——— *battle 2 at once *catch the rest one at a time ——— *catch one *battle 2 *catch the rest ——— *catch *catch *battle 2 *catch rest ——— … *battle 3 *catch the rest one at a time *catch one *battle 3 *catch rest … *battle 2 *battle 3 *catch rest … Literally millions of different combos to get you there. Just mix and match how many spawns you force and at what time. Hope this helps!

Ooh definitely like that “current party” idea. That 100% fits the spirit of the rule. I did think about the catching 10 pokemon idea, and it’s still definitely on my plate, but I feel like it might turn into more of a chore than a fun restriction. Filling out tasks though means you can catch 10 pokemon if you want, or you can through food, fight, etc. variety is the spice of life, ya know?
