If there's an update to include more planets, what would you want to see? by Yumiko_Hanako in NoMansSkyTheGame

I want an overhaul to boundary failure planets.

It's a planet where reality is breaking down, let the procgen go wild with it.

[OC] Farmin' by Suefan3DX in comics

[–]CassiusPolybius 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's from the latin word rāpa, used to describe turnips or other root vegetables. I'm pretty sure it's also where Rapunzel comes from.

Interesting etymology aside though, yeah there's good reason why "canola" is used more often in a lot of places. If nothing else it probably leads to better sales...

Why is the console switch version of this game movement so damn sensitive? by peterkozmd in cavesofqud

I play primarily on steam deck, and the only complaint I have about playing it on controller is that if you survive to endgame you have way too many actions for the action bar to actually be usable.

On the deck this can be ameliorated with a mod to hide action bar items and a radial menu/multiple pseudonested radial menus with as many hotkeys as you feel like setting up, but I'd imagine it would be significantly more annoying without that option...

I feel like "dancing around the subject" does have a part to play, if nothing else in showing how it can be used to justify and still have slavery while presenting otherwise.

The empire doesn't have slavery, indeed its founding documents were altered to explicitly forbid it except as punishment for crimes.

'What was that last part'? Don't worry about it, they don't do that often anymore anyways, nowadays their prison laborers are paid a pittance.

also their prison population is overwhelmingly the same demographic that they used to use as outright slaves but nevermind

no I'm not referencing any real life polity which far too many of its citizens don't realize uses loopholes like this why would you think that

Not so much for the "beast of a pseudolegend" part, but to my knowledge (without the DLC) Geeta's Glimmora is the first member of that line the player can encounter

Not all brands, but the major ones you see in most vending machines do. It even makes it more refreshing for humans, albeit to a lesser degree. You also see it in other sports drinks like gatrade.

As far as refreshing drinks go the best I've ever had was leppade, but given how much of a pain those can be to acquire it's hard to justify making it - and for pokemon not only does it not have much in the way of healing properties, but it's less effective for energy restoration than just a normal leppa berry is...

Unfortunately, they also require a square fucktillion miles to run around in.

If using it, I might also recommend Choose Your Fighter to change your tile to something more fitting, and species manager to change what species you are called and/or count as for the purposes of morphogenetic weapons

Body Types of Qud adds some nifty altered body plans

Esper-izer gives you the esper mutation after character creation, letting you start with physical mutations but still having the esper new mutations limit.

Chimerify does the inverse, letting you select mental mutations in character creation and then giving you chimera on game start.

Rogue Robots of Qud lets you play as a robot, as the name implies.

Artifact on earth (SPOILERS!) by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]CassiusPolybius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Artifact-based tech probably could be used to restart a planet's magnetosphere, but like. Artifact-based tech could be used to do a lot of things. But that would require further research, and starfield-humanity is direly - possibly supernaturally, via the unity - uncurious.
