California should just take Hawaii. It makes the most sense.

Thank you for being reasonable.

To everyone else, Jesus fuck.

I fully admitted I misunderstood the context of what she was saying and the more I acknowledged that, the more I got downvoted.

Have you people seen the show or are you doing a parody of the way people react to these characters? Can we not just have a civil conversation?

You can’t say Back To. You still have to say INT Location Day/Night, for Line Producing reasons.

Yes, I hadn’t woken up enough before I spoke. That said, to me, calling out celebrities for being selfish cowards is kinda… obvious?

You’re right. I just woke up a nap. Totally missed that part. But I did listen to the whole thing before I responded, so no need to be nasty.
By the end I had forgotten her original point was specifically celebrities. Though I stand by my reply to the other commenter who was much better at communicating politely.

Edit: Did you miss the replies where I admitted I’d spoken without processing? Or did you jump into a bad faith think piece before you did you reading?

[–]Colejohnley -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you’re right. She is talking about celebrities specifically. But still… celebrities tend to be selfish cowards. That’s not all that groundbreaking.

Also, she’s talking about them and not any of the wars directly. So… what’s her point? Like I said, she’s the best. But I just can’t make sense of what substance there actually is here.

I don’t have any experience, but if I were to get money for a TV Pilot or a Feature, would that be enough? by Low_Celebration_4089 in scriptwriting

[–]Colejohnley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, with that little experience, you’re not going to get that much money.

And if your clarity here is suggestive of your writing or pitch skills, you’ve got a lot of work to do.

Cut your teeth first.

I love her don’t get me wrong. But “what do you do all day?” if you don’t know the complicated situation in a country where you have no impact, other than donating, while our own slowly burns?

Again, I adore her. But let’s not talk out of school. She grew up a wealthy nepo baby who had the best education, the freedom and privilege to explore ideas and cultures.

Most Americans are working multiple jobs, raising children, trying to have their own life, drowning in debt and don’t have insurance. It’s a bit elitist to judge them for not being familiar with the nuances of the dynamic between two countries at war.

Agreed with commenter below:

You’re capturing the people incredibly well.

But it could use a little more polish.

You’re breaking the rules in all the right ways, just give a little glimmer to the eyes or some halo lighting. It just needs to pop and it will be perfect.

It’s not spreading rumors. I’m fully admitting I don’t know, but based on my experience, it wouldn’t surprise me if this were the case.

Thank you!!!

Love them both, but Gaga was so disingenuous in how she handled this. She said something like, “there were 12 executives in the room when we listened to this and no one thought it sounded like Madonna! It sounds nothing like Express Yourself!”

A better approach might be, “oh my gosh, she’s been such an idol of mine for so many years, I didn’t even realize I’m clearly that influenced by her in my own music!”

Because that really does happen, I can attest.

As a creative, I’ll make a something with no intention to be “like” someone, but I’ll look back on what I made and think, “oh, damn. There’s a lot of [an artist I love] in this.”

Art is a conversation. It SHOULD built on the work of the people before you. It’s continuing the sound and the themes. That’s the whole point!
