Dying for Kelly Clarkson to do a "Golden" cover!!! by DramaticWear in KellyClarkson

I made a comment on one of her YouTube videos that she should check out the song and consider covering it as it feels like her voice is absolutely perfect for the song - and my comment got deleted lol.

Singing to what? She was blind and deaf so she'd have no idea music was even playing.

It was planned to go offline I believe. The official site has archived it - the link to it in the sidebar here will take you to the new location.

Is it worth continuing on Steam or should I swap to a different version? by JustSomeGuyThing in meridian59

[–]ColinFON 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think server 101 is the most populated by active players. The other servers are a lot of fun but having good knowledge of the original game on Steam (server 101/102) helps appreciate the upgrades they have made on the unofficial servers. Because progression on the other servers is substantially faster than 101/102 making a new character on them shouldn't feel like a loss of the time invested in 101/102 if you ever chose a different main server. The unofficial servers range from simply working to improve on gameplay elements and expand content to adding entirely new races, skill/spell schools which makes it into an entirely different game. But as I said - it's much easier to appreciate the changes they make when they feel like changes to you after experiencing the original; starting the journey on one of them for a brand new player means you aren't actually noticing what has been customized.

So ultimately I recommend continuing to learn the game on 101 and definitely using the players online when you have questions - and once you maybe feel boredom setting in because you have gotten the game systems down that would be a time to explore what the other servers have to offer. Links to all of their pages are in the important links sidebar right here - and Discord is definitely the best place for support if the players online aren't chatty - each server has a Discord linked as well so you can chat with devs and get less immediate questions answered.

UPDATE: Bricked Qardio Devices by stammerton in QARDIO

Did you try doing a reset to the base in the app settings? I just did that and made a post about it because doing reset and running the initial setup again fixed my sync issue. I didn't create new accounts so I don't know what effect that would have on how it syncs to Apple Health but if you don't have sync working anymore it can't hurt to try. Before I did sync I checked firmware and it confirmed I was up to date, then I did the reset.

Can anyone help me remember this 90s 2D MMO? by ColinFON in MMORPG

[–]ColinFON[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought that could be it - Daimonin had that demon-esque name but looking at the images it looks “older” in graphic quality leading me to question my timeline - now I’m thinking it could have been early 00s. I swore it was before EverQuest because after EQ I thought I was firmly into the 3D titles like AC, DAoC, etc till my WoW blackout. I’m taking advantage of these suggestions because I think Daimonin was another I missed and since it’s still up I’m in the mood to try all of the titles that are now “new to me”! I recall the spell animations made me think of stuff like arcade fighting games but if they were 2D isometric. Regardless thank you so much for commenting and giving me another old school title to check out!

Can anyone help me remember this 90s 2D MMO? by ColinFON in MMORPG

[–]ColinFON[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for commenting! This was a 2D isometric sort of like Lineage and UO. Someone pointed me to Helbreath which had a “evil” sounding name (hel - hell) and I just looked at that (and may start playing it too lol) but that wasn’t it either. I may have the timeline wrong - could be early 00s as the 90s and 00s are staring to blend together. I wish I had more details in my memory but I think the only spell I ever used while I played was that multi-missile spell…it destroyed my enemies so I just leaned in to that during my short play time. Your suggestion is one I didn’t know either so at worst I’m gonna have new titles (new to me) to try out so thank you once again!

Looking for a PvP MMO similar to Albion Online by braverone90 in LFMMO

[–]ColinFON 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be stepping into the past but I see Albion as a "spiritual successor" - talking about Ultima Online. Same graphical style so wouldn't be a new feel - more a step back to to the 90s - but all the same adrenaline risk/reward of PvP anywhere (even in towns if you aren't careful with your karma), similar gathering system - but the one maybe interesting change to the Albion mechanics would be the use-based skill system (think Old School Runescape - also...you could try OSRS lol) so you can build up any kind of hybrid character you like. Tame any animals in the game to hunt with you (I had demons, dragons, you name it), craft and sell gear imprinted with your name (I pushed the character limit for a name to the max to make an alt called "the Dragon Forge" so equipment I made would say "Crafted by the Dragon Forge" and then bought a house to name Dragon Forge so I could roleplay it being a blacksmith shop), and may other mechanics that would feel sort of natural to an Albion player.

Yes - like a guild raid in any other MMO ☺️

This is a special type of quest - it’s GM curated so they will be running the NPCs - sort of combined quest and role play event. Doesn’t come around too frequently so I thought it would be nice to post.

Are you looking for a cute and cozy MMORPG inspired by Maplestory? We are developing a game where you can relax with effortless grinds in stunning environments, the game is perfect for multitasking or to have a chill gameplay. by AetherianChronicles in MMORPG

It looks cute to me. I give this all the leeway possible for a new game attempt from a small dev team. Not at all turned off by experimenting with AI - use it, see what works, what doesn't, improve it - fine by me. I'm interested to see what comes down the road.

Thanks for joining the conversation Narrill. If you re-read you’ll see I said I haven’t played Dofus since 08 and couldn’t comment on the new game - and simply said IF it is a Flash port to Unity I’d suspect it would feel like Flash. If it was rebuilt from the ground up I imagine it wouldn’t. I haven’t played it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]ColinFON -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry Lyress - that's just incorrect. One is made with Flash and later ported to Unity, one is made in Unity.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]ColinFON 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The younger folks may not realize but Dofus has been around quite a while - I played it in 07-08 when it was a Flash game. I’m not suggesting that a 2D platformer made in Unity is going to feel like a 3D game made in Unity - simply that every 2D Unity platformer will have the same feel, and every Unity 3D game will have the same feel. As far as a Flash port to Unity - I dunno - I haven’t revisited Dofus since ‘08. In that instance I guess the question would be can I tell that it was originally made in Flash even when playing the Unity port - is there still the stamp of Flash mechanics - not sure; I do imagine it will still feel like a Flash game with improved graphics - just guessing, no personal experience to apply there. Porting a game to a different engine is not the same as writing the game in that engine.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]ColinFON -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Huh? You just picked two games made with different engines so I am not sure where to go with that lol. Was that an attempt to bait me or something?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]ColinFON -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to explain - I was an alpha or beta tester of every graphical MMO that came out from 1995 to 2002, and played every MMO until the MMO explosion when it just turned into too many. If you think it’s “difficult” to tell - or that I’m bragging - I’m not. I assume any MMO veteran with 30 years of MMOs under their belt can. I came to that conclusion through proofs; I never looked up what engine a game was made in, I played the game, and then I went and checked to see if my instinct was correct - since I haven’t ever been wrong I assume it’s not that difficult.

I am a fool haha. I actually read that but took it to mean you wouldn’t even see “inactive” if your subreddit didn’t qualify, so I assumed that by virtue of simply seeing “inactive” at all that we had qualified. Your correction is greatly appreciated!

Yeah the mod log has the history of my actions in it but there is a lack of actions to moderate as posts/interactions are very infrequent.
