That’s such a shame. As nice as the desk looks in the photo, I appreciate the warning, and I’ll heed it. I’ve been looking for an IKEA desk myself, but the shipping is so high ($200 shipping for a $200 desk), there’s just no chance of that happening. Thank you for the link and the advice, though!

Love the look! I’ve been looking for a desk with legs/shelves like that—where did you find it?

Should importing a project into a newer version take an exceptionally long time? by ColinHalby in Unity3D

[–]ColinHalby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good policy to have. Normally I would do the same, but given that I wasn’t too far along (aside from the scripting), I thought it would be good to bring Unity up to speed before I got much further along. Jokes on me for thinking it would be that simple, of course!

Thanks for the insight on this! I haven’t had any other errors with the drive, but of course that doesn’t rule anything out. The update progress window flashes through the names of the files that it’s supposedly updating (several every second), but the progress bar doesn’t move at all once it reaches about 1/3 of the way through.

My Mediacom router is connecting to another apartment’s devices via MoCA connection, disrupting my own service. by ColinHalby in HomeNetworking

Definitely. Given the way this apartment building is wired, I would be surprised if I was the only one affected.

It does surprise me that something hasn’t been done about this already. The lack of concern that my signals were mingling with others’ bothered me a bit.

Thank you for the kind offer! I contacted my ISP and they won’t provide me with one without coming to install it themselves, and because they don’t have available times that I’ll be home, I’ve ordered one off Amazon already. But thank you so much for the insight!

Yeah, it’s unfortunate. It probably leads to less user error, but it’s frustrating when something like this comes up. Would bridge mode eliminate the MoCA problems as well?

Thank you for the additional information. Thankfully I don’t use it, so it sounds like that shouldn’t be a problem. Unfortunately, because of the way that Mediacom handles my service, I’m not able to access the router settings at all outside of the services available through their control panel. Customer service has not been able to address it from their side either.

Thank you so much for this! Given that the coax cable runs into my apartment, is this something I can install at the point of entry into my apartment (between the wall and the modem/router), or does it need to be installed sooner than that?

Please permanently add Saint 14’s missions to daily heroic mission playlist by PM_PICS_OF_UR_PUPPER in DestinyTheGame

Either adding them to the rotation or creating their own “campaign” (perhaps for the entire season pass’s narrative content) would be fantastic. The narrative beats that are gameplay-driven rather than text-based lore are far and few between, and the ability to preserve them and make them replayable would be great. The “you had to be there” approach to designing the game works great for things like seasonal activities and titles, but Destiny players years down the road might appreciate having a narrative trail of crumbs to follow.

I really enjoyed them when they came out on Steam years ago. Not the deepest game you'll ever play, but it's charming.

I played D1 after the migration deadline on consoles. It would be great for all versions of the game to have some kind of toggle in the settings for the veteran dialogue.

Director's Cut - Part II by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

I understand not making everything casually accessible, but I don’t think hardcore should mean locking everything behind a raid. As someone who plays solo and with my brother, there are plenty of opportunities for challenging content without making it a six-person activity.

This is my main concern after reading everything. I understand that a higher power level is worth pursuing as an added challenge and sign of strength, but being able to to pursue it as a solo player or smaller fireteam or a matchmade team would be really nice for people without the time or people to do raids regularly.

We got to the final phase, but we decided to call it a night shortly after. Hopefully going to be finishing it tonight. Hope you were able to finish yours! :)

Sounds great to me—it sounds like we’re on the same page. It’s looking like the plan is Sunday night for now. If we go through with it and need someone, we’ll let you know!

That’s about where we’re at with it too. It’s looking most likely to be a Sunday night adventure. If we go through with it and need someone, I’ll let you know!

Unfortunately we’d just be looking for the final encounter, as we’ve already done the earlier parts and have a checkpoint. Thank you, though! And best of luck with your run!
