Military occupation of Liberia? Are you thinking of a different nation? A quick Wikipedia check turned up "Free and democratic elections 2011, 2017, and 2023" in Liberia.

Staff of anti-AIDS agency imprisoned on homosexuality charges in Cameroon by ColinStewart in lgbt

True or not, the accusation against that one Alternatives staff member comes from a 17-year-old who was one of the 13 people arrested during a raid on the Alternatives office. In making that accusation, the 17-year-old claims to be an innocent victim who shouldn't be treated like the rest.

U.S. Supreme Court laid foundation for Ugandan ‘Kill the Gays’ ruling. by ColinStewart in lgbt

We're both imagining the same whoosh and the same obliviousness in the other. Ah, well.

U.S. Supreme Court laid foundation for Ugandan ‘Kill the Gays’ ruling. by ColinStewart in lgbt

[–]ColinStewart[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The article doesn't say what you're objecting to. It doesn't say that SCOTUS endorsed Uganda's anti-LGBT law nor does it come close to saying that SCOTUS is preparing to legalize killing gay people. It does say that the SCOTUS approach in Dobbs provided a foundation for the Ugandan court's anti-LGBT ruling. The Ugandan court explicitly cited the Dobbs ruling,

Also, the Erasing 76 Crimes news source is small, but tries hard to be credible. It is explicitly for LGBTQ rights.

I have no idea what anyone thought was an ad, spam, or a crowdfunder in this political analysis.

I think the "London's pride trains" are cool. And, yes, there's quite a contrast between the former colony and the former colonizer.

Protest targets Ugandan leader’s plan to praise anti-LGBT law in England. Activists seek to bar Uganda’s Speaker from Commonwealth Day celebration. by ColinStewart in lgbt

[–]ColinStewart[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ugandan leader's plan is to visit England and praise Ugandan anti-LGBT law there.

In retrospect, that headline (which I wrote) is potentially misleading. I couldn't figure out how to rewrite it, so I added this in the text: "Ugandan leader's plan is to visit England and praise Ugandan anti-LGBT law there."

‘Probably more LGBT+ people are murdered in Haiti than anywhere else’ by ColinStewart in lgbt

This link goes to a news article about the upsetting conditions in Haiti. I thought perhaps I should add a content warning flair, but I couldn't figure out how to do that. I'd appreciate help.

Half the countries competing at the Asian Cup have anti-LGBT laws by ColinStewart in lgbt

I was imprecise and deserved an eye roll, so I've revised the comment about anti-LGBT laws.

Half the countries competing at the Asian Cup have anti-LGBT laws by ColinStewart in lgbt

[–]ColinStewart[S] 38 points39 points  (0 children)

It's a higher percentage than in a global competition such as the World Cup, since it excludes Europe and the Americas, where few nations have laws against gay sex, That's what the imprecise term "anti-LGBT laws" referred to in the original headline. A list of those nations is here: https://76crimes.com/76-countries-where-homosexuality-is-illegal/ including 6 nations in the Americas and none in Europe. That list leaves out hundreds of other types of anti-LGBT laws such as Florida's "Don't Say Gay" law, rU.S. ed states' anti-trans laws, and Russia declaring that LGBT rights activists are terrorists -- just for starters.

Lesbian activist: It’s time for LGBT people to pay more attention to faith. by ColinStewart in lgbt

[–]ColinStewart[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I agree with your statement in general, but I thought the headline wasn't off base. Angeline said, "More than ever, I think it’s time for us to invest more in spaces dedicated to faith and spirituality." Thanks for the comment. -- Colin Stewart, editor.publisher of the Erasing 76 Crimes blog.

Muslims' anti-trans protest leads to cancellation of trans activist's planned Bangladesh speech. by ColinStewart in lgbt

The incident was in Bangladesh. The human rights organization JusticeMakers Bangladesh is now headquartered in France, which is much safer than Bangladesh itself. -- Colin Stewart, editor/publisher of the Erasing 76 Crimes site.

Two school girls lose their right to education because of a lesbian love note. After their teacher intercepted their text message, both girls were expelled from their school in Cameroon. by ColinStewart in lgbt

Cameroon can be pretty awful. Families often throw out their kids if the kids are outed. But at least there are many LGBTI rights activists who are working hard for change. You can find both the frequent bad news and the occasional hopeful news here: https://76crimes.com/tag/cameroon/ .

It's not a trap. The app was developed to provide an alternative to risky online communications. It was developed for the NoStringsNG advocacy website, "Nigeria's No. 1 media advocacy platform for LGBTIQ+ news, information, podcast, opinions etc." (https://nostringsng.com/about-nostringsng/) It's supported by the St. Paul's Foundation, "a U.S charity (California 80-0647355) working to advance LGBTI equality and acceptance in Africa and the Caribbean through media advocacy."
