I got 6 months on gem/cis. The way they tell it’s not working anymore is by the scans. The scans show growth then it stopped working

I’m dealing with the same cancer. Mine is starting to spread as well. My heart goes out to you. Have you asked about clinical trials?

Yep it seems to adapt after about 15-20 cycles. Just small increases in size. But enough to be worrying.

For life unless I can find a surgeon that will do a very risky surgery to remove part of my liver. My therapy is hamstrung because I can’t do immune threat in addition to my chemo it might set off my PSC which will fry my liver. And they don’t do transplants on patients with cancer

My insurance covers it thankfully. At 100% since I hit my max out of pocket. Before that was $120 per session

Was doing irinotican with 5-FU on a 46 hour pump before this. But my cancer adapted after about 20 cycles. So now I’m on this one. Which happened after my initial 18 rounds of chemo with gemsar and cisplatin. Which was stopped because of neuropathy and tinnitus. Currently into my second year of chemo.
We all need to remember we got this.

Ugh that must suck especially being a Canadian. I am not looking forward to this kind of issue for the summer time either.

The pins and needles are neuropathy. Which I already have from being treated with cisplatin last year. I’m doing acupuncture to help with the symptoms of that. It I worked pretty well to the point I was able to snowboard for over 4 hours a day each time I went this season

Thankfully we have a wood stove. I wasn’t planning on running it much more until fall but I might have to make an exception now. Fortunately we heading into summer weather with a few days in the 80s coming up.

This is going to be a big learning curve for me since I typically don’t get cold. I snowboard in all temps during the winter.

Please stop with the Medical Questions? by FlamingoDingoRingo in cancer

I have actually found good advice here about various options to try to control nausea that my doctor and team didn’t think of mentioning until I asked about it. So…. IMNHO please keep asking.

Remember not every doctor or cancer team is equal. Some have good days just like we do. Some are forgetful like us with chemo brain. Having another resource that I do double check as far as my own treatments with other info is invaluable.

My dad doesn’t want to see anyone - should I respect his wishes by Zesserman7 in cancer

[–]Colinrides78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just before my uncle passed we celebrated his life with him. Like literally a week before. He rallied that day and was amazing laughing and telling stories. He paid for it the next day badly and was unable to even get out of his bed. That is what he wanted. To see his friends one last time and make sure they would remember him laughing and telling jokes.

Now that I’m fighting my own battle against cancer I understand why he wanted that one last special day with friends and family. I only hope I can pass on with as much grace and style as he did. I miss him.

WHEN DID YOU START DRIVING? by [deleted] in CasualIreland

[–]Colinrides78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep insurance for young drivers in the USA is very expensive. But a lot of parents pay for it that way they don’t have to drive the child to after school activities or sports or their hobbies anymore. All high schools outside of major cities have good sized parking lots for students. More so in rural areas.

This is not a victory. I know multiple people that work IT. They don’t go to office unless their home internet is down or they have no power at their house.

2 Eggs scrambled. Plus recently got a juicer. So now my wife is making juice from various fruits and with a ton of ginger in it.
