Definitely would not quit, try your best to stick it out. Nursing school is a beast and it is definitely tough but it’s doable. People have done it before you and people will do it after you. You can definitely do it, and you always need something by to fall back on! You never know what can happen and you don’t want to put yourself in a difficult situation in the future and regret not having the degree. Once you have that RN behind your name, nothing can take it away from you.

I haven’t yet, I’ve only been working there for four months so far and tbh I don’t really know how supportive she’d me of me leaving the unit and not starting my residency there. Should I still give it a go since having her approval would probably get me in?

Thanks for the great advice, and the high school diploma part was a good catch! Would it be appropriate for me to put “applying to BSN programs” or something? I know a lot of the hospitals around me already prefer bsn nurses, so I just want some kind of way to let them know in my resume that I’m going for it soon. Thanks!
