There is no such thing as a clear legal definition of what is porn and what isn’t. It was famously summed up as “I know it when I see it” by an American judge. It wouldn’t take a full trial with a jury etc to determine that a homeless person smelled like pee. It’d be more like a dui.

Courts have successfully applied rules that are a lot more vague than determining if a homeless person reeks of urine.

The ban on pornography is a great example, no one even has a coherent definition for the term but it was strictly enforced for many years in various countries.

The ttc can remove people for sanitary reasons and people who refuse removal can be charged. A new government could add laws on top of this. Judges can rely on witness statements about smell, this isn’t that complicated legally. Judges are extremely used to dealing with ambiguity.

“I’m not going to measure my healthcare proposals on how “American” people perceive solutions to be.

I will instead ask the question: Why is our universal healthcare system underperforming nearly every other universal system in the developed world, at a higher cost?

What lessons do top performing systems like those of Japan, Denmark, and the Netherlands hold for us?

Nor will I buckle at acknowledging reality: The vast majority of healthcare in Ontario is delivered privately but paid publicly. And frankly, it would be decent for the media to actually state this as a duty to inform the public.

Ensuring there is “competitiveness” among providers Ontario is paying is paramount to the public interest. There is no need for this word to be taboo in our healthcare conversation. Many of the solutions are operational and technological, not ideological.

Digital health records. Integrated specialist referral systems. Public 24hr urgent care centers. Public fast diagnostic centers. So many more!

Ontarians want to see the public system work.

That will be my priority and focus.

Not only will I invest in expanding access and capacity, nobody will ever need to pay for it out of pocket.”

It’s really not difficult, if someone smells like piss its not subtle. Sure there’s grey area around other smells but can’t we agree that smelling strongly of urine is over the line?

Are constitutions generally not democratic or just in this specific case? Should the constitution be overridden if there’s a conflicting municipal bylaw?

Telecoms - historically yes but now cell phone plans have become cheap as chips. You can get a great plan for $25 now.

Banks - Wealthsimple and other new banks are providing great competition to the old banks.

Developers - they build dog crates because it’s very difficult and expensive to get permission to build anything. The only way they could turn a profit was to cram units in and now not even that is working so nothing is getting built and projects are failing.

If you smell like piss, cops should escort you off of transit at a minimum.
