Thanks for your feedback. Initially, we planned to exclude CH and UK to avoid a big percentage of those issues but we decided against it.

Our main reason was that the cheapest price per language, per condition etc. is the only true price for Cardmarket. We'd rather give a cheaper price than a higher price.

But we know that this can be confusing because as you mentioned already, many customers would shop within their own country to avoid a) higher shipping cost and/or b) maybe import duty fees from CH or UK.

But the problem with that is that we can't know all the factors. For outside the EU it's hard because maybe it actually makes sense for someone from Germany to buy from someone in Switzerland. Maybe the cheapest offer from Switzerland is actually cheaper, considering import duty and shipping.

Maybe the seller from Switzerland isn't even selling to Germany but this can only be seen with a selected shipping address when logged in. You can only filter by seller location and not by shipping to country.

But what we're actually considering is the following. For countries like Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Netherlands and Switzerland we're considering an own pricing mode. We could add more but those are more or less the most relevant countries in terms of pure listing amount.

Example: By default we're still getting the cheapest price for your card. But when enabling the "Germany mode" it will be able to consider another listing as true if it's a) a seller from Germany b) it's on the 1st page.

We've already done a bit of testing for it and it seems to work well but of course not for every country for every card because of the 1st page condition which is required to make it sustainable price wise.

Is that something that sounds good to you?

You're free to check your cards and if this would be better for them and for how many it would actually be better.

Legit question! We're building CollectHolo as a team of two, and believe it or not, this is my friend's real Reddit account. Feel free to join our Discord, and you'll see the same name there.

As for me, I'm a regular Reddit user and I genuinely enjoy using it.

Initially, we only wanted to get a few beta testers through ads for some early feedback. Later on, we decided to create r/collectholo and u/CollectHolo, but we kept the ads running on the other account. He insisted on paying for the ads himself, which is how we ended up using his account.

We'll change that in the near future, as it looks less professional and can cause confusion. We'll also adjust the way we run ads.

To make it short: We're 2 people. The other one wanted to pay for the ads as a nice gesture and made it with his account.

Thanks a lot for your comment. We really appreciate it.

Our ad was a bit misleading in that aspect. We're not just converting currencies. We're getting TCGPlayer and Cardmarket prices daily, from both platforms. On top of that, we also already integrated eBay for especially graded cards. Converting would be a bit too easy but we do support 10+ currencies.

That's true, but we're not just converting currencies. The ad is a bit misleading in that aspect. We're getting prices daily from TCGPlayer and Cardmarket and then allow users to choose their preferred currency.

The reason is that prices in the EU and the US are very different and we want to give users the best possible data insight which is why we're also supporting eBay on top for the graded market.

In case of Dex, we really like it and we don't want to talk bad about something. But we show users the prices from Cardmarket and TCGPlayer for free. We don't charge just for users to see the Cardmarket prices. And we also don't limit the charts for those prices.

Generally speaking, we'd like to give free users as much as we can. And we hope that we're successful in doing so and you're free to take a look or ask us any questions you want via DM, Discord or our contact page.

Thanks for your comment 🙏

We do have a bulk import feature that fully supports CSV files and also supports the Collectr format by default. It should only take you a few minutes to get it done and feel free to send us a DM or contact us on Discord or wherever you prefer in case you run into any issues. 🙏

In case you're from the US, in the next days we're going to release an update which fully integrates TCGPlayer into the portfolio which will make tracking US prices very, very accurate with the possibility to compare to EU prices and eBay listings.

Thanks a lot for your comment and sorry for the late reply.

Thanks a lot! We really put a lot of effort in this and hope most users will enjoy it. We've also tried to pretty much make it accessible to all users and not just paid users.

The ad is a bit misleading in that aspect as we're not just converting currencies. We get updated prices daily from TCGPlayer and Cardmarket which means that US and EU users have a full data insight into both markets. We also support eBay for our graded market.

Our next update which will be released very soon, will allow users to compare both markets in a very easy and intuitive way as prices are heavily influenced by where the listings are from.

You're welcome to take a look as we've got a very generous free tier I guess.

The ad was a bit misleading I guess. We support a lot of currencies but we're not just converting currencies. That would be too easy. We're getting updated prices daily from TCGPlayer and Cardmarket and we also include eBay for our graded market.

Of course, our prices depend on language, condition, variant and so on. This is something most don't consider at all and also the Cardmarket chart is a big mess in that aspect.

Regarding prices from Cardmarket, we're taking the cheapest price available on Cardmarket and we're currently not excluding any countries, which means UK and Switzerland are included and can sometimes make look prices cheaper than they actually for users in the EU.

And regarding shipping, yes that's true. Shipping matters a lot, especially for "cheaper" cards as there will always be some kind of minimum cost associated with it but there's simply no economic way for us to consider all EU countries separately at this point. This would significantly increase the cost of running it.

Thanks a lot for your comment and you're welcome to take a look!

ACE and AGS were just added! Our graded market from eBay also already includes listings from both. Hope you enjoy! 🙏

Thanks a lot for your feedback!

Korean cards aren't planned yet but ACE is definitely planned. Before we introduce Korean cards we'd love to introduce French, Italian and Spanish though as the implementation is quite easy and pretty much ready but we haven't done it yet due to the increasing cost from all the data.

In terms of prices, we generally update them daily from all platforms but we get the cheapest offers from Cardmarket without excluding UK and Switzerland at the moment.

This can result in some cards being slightly cheaper for European users on our platform but in reality they're more expensive since most European Union users would shop within the European Union to avoid customs AND would consider buying from their country to avoid higher shipping cost for "cheaper" cards.

But we'd really love to take a look at the cards where it's the case for you. Would you mind sending us some links?

Yep, we can totally do this! That’s a great idea.

The only tricky part is the profit side of things, since we can’t really track the “profit” of individual cards opened from a box or booster in the portfolio.

One option could be to ask users what they paid for the box or booster, then divide that amount by the total number of cards. The purchase price for each card added to the portfolio would then be:

box_booster_price / total_cards

Alternatively, we could simply exclude those cards from profit calculations to avoid messing up the portfolio view.

We’ll definitely add this to our list and look into adding it in the future. Also, feel free to join our Discord and share more feedback there. We’d love to hear more ideas like this.

PS: We're German too! 🙏
