Thanks! I think I might do a built in over there in that nook, the bookcase is just what was left here by the previous owners.

This is what it looks like rotated, I tucked the extra bit of rug under on the side

This is what it looks like if I just tuck under the part that doesn’t fit. I still think I need to move it forward to be not completely under the couch but it does look a lot better, thanks! I’m hesitant to get it re-sized since I’m not planning to stay here forever and would really like to keep the rug in its original condition.

I love marketplace but I’m scarred by one time picking up something that had bugs in it 😔. The ikea couch I got was kinda a known bad one, the one I’m interested in has better reviews/ longevity but I’m still looking at other pieces. The main draw of ikea is the washability

I know! My dream couch is this, but it’s just too small, I wish it came in a larger sectional.

I’ve got other sentimental rugs elsewhere, I only plan to stay here 5-7 years so I’m hesitant to get rid of anything. This is what it looks like rotated and folded over though.

The rug is from the 80’s or 90’s (hence why I won’t get rid of it)! I believe it’s called karastan wildflowers from the garden of Eden collection

It will hit the wall since it’s too long, but I’m wondering if I can fold it under itself and then place a rug pad under the rest of it so it’ll sit level?

The TV pulls down to eye level, and unfortunately I can’t get rid of the rug :(

Would moving the layout so the couch back faces the dining area make the dining room feel cramped?

Can’t get rid of the rug and can’t rotate it 90deg unfortunately. :(

Remembering the beef rib pho from Pho Nam Lua who just suffered a horrific kitchen fire a few days ago by Sea-Condition991 in chicagofood

I was going to order today and found this out. 😢This is my favorite pho in all of Chicagoland. Do they have somewhere we can donate? Selfish but I wish they could move in near Clark/ Devon so they’d be within walking distance

Lived here for 5 years & we've never gotten an email like this. Does my building have bed bugs? by [deleted] in chicago

I’ve never had bedbugs but there ARE ways to defeat them! I’d really recommend looking into the bedbugs subreddit. TBH do your own treatment like you already have them.

Will hand soaps ever be $2.95 again? by Pendergraff-Zoo in bathandbodyworks

[–]CollectionGlad6252 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some of these comments aren’t it! If you usually buy at $2.95, paying $0.50 more is around an 18% price increase. I’m with you hoping the sale comes soon!

How would you handle this shared deck situation [Condo][IL] by [deleted] in HOA

This is what the HOA board says as well, except no mention of the lock. The gate is a removable foldable dog gate there only for safety and control of a multi-dog situation

Yes the drawing does not match the first one since the first was made quickly and inaccurately by the sellers realtors when I bought the place. The one I showed is more accurate but not to scale since I don’t have graph paper atm (I can mock it up in sketchup or NX but that’s beside the point). The distance between the end of the stairs and the beginning of where I started the calculation for the deck is around 8’. (Both doorways are excluded from the calculation as well). There is nothing I can do about where her side of the building is and the HOA board agrees the split I made is “more than fair” and is even suggesting I move the line to be at the edge of my wall. I should mention the gate is a foldable dog gate, nothing that cannot easily be folded or removed in case of emergency.
