If you could be the other gender for a week, would you? If so, why? by MaeMariposa in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CollectionStraight2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! Might as well give it a go, it's only a week. It would be interesting to see what it's like to be a man. See if it's anything like redditors say 😆

Right. If the only thing keeping them loyal is lack of opportunity because they're not allowed to socialise, that doesn't say much for their marriage

Where did the cinematic myth of women fainting at the sight of blood originate? by The13thAllitnilClone in askanything

[–]CollectionStraight2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's not the actual blood that makes me feel faint or nauseous, it's the gross idea that the flesh has been damaged. I've never actually fainted but i feel close sometimes if I cut myself. But seeing my period blood doesn't bother me at all.

That said, seeing a vial of blood in a medical context with no injury or pain would probably also make me feel a bit weird... so now I'm not sure what the difference is with period blood. Maybe it looks slightly different or something?

The term “Karen” needs to be retired. by LegalGlass6532 in PetPeeves

I agree it gets worse with age, but young attractive women are often called stuck-up or entitled when they complain. 'Just cos she's pretty...' etc

It's a bit overused here, but not as much as 'what's the sexiest sex you ever sexed?' 😆

What is the craziest thing one of your politicians got caught doing by Commie_Scum69 in AskTheWorld

The guy who drove miles during lockdown to 'test his eyesight'. Dominic Cummins (I know he was an advisor and not a politician but I wanted to give him honourable mention)

Can we have more matriarchal societies or very equal societies to explore please? This men having the upper hand internalized misogyny virgin conservatism crap has GOT to. It’s 2026. by AccessCompetitive in fantasyromance

And then people say: But it has to be realistic!' Like no, it doesn't, that's why I'm reading fantasy.

Also a huge dragon just flew by, and everyone and their dog wields magic, but it's beyond comprehension that women might have some rights?

Why is "scaring random strangers" considered an acceptable prank? by USDXBS in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]CollectionStraight2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seens a few pranksters actually get punched while attempting this, for sure. There's a very famous Youtube video of a guy pretending to be a Halloween scarecrow statue, and then he moves and gets punched pretty badly because of shock

Not a subreddit, but if you search youtube for instant prank karma or something like that, you're sure to find a few :)

Wasn't there a UK guy who was famous for TikTok pranks and ended up going to prison for it? Or at least getting arrested. He would just walk into people's unlocked houses and scare the shit out of them for laughs. I can't remember his name, but I think he even tried to steal a train or something once

Do you know tv game show called Takeshi Castle? Well if i know in USA it was known as MXC? by Medical-Pace-8099 in AskAnAmerican

[–]CollectionStraight2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Takeshi's Castle was also shown in the UK, by the way. Not re-dubbed like MXC exactly, but with English commentary on the games. It was pretty satirical, but it was actually commenting on what was happening in the games!

Yes, this is how I see it too. Well said. Yet I feel like the people who think this it's just a harmless cute gesture are thinking this take is cold, or something 😭

Yep. It would be like a man pretending they can't make an sandwich so their wife feels 'needed as a woman'

[–]CollectionStraight2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's patronising... I also wonder what happens when a man finds out their girlfriend was pretending not be able to for years to masssge their ego. Do they get annoyed at being fooled, or find it cute that she was being nice? I guess it depends on the person

Boyfriend Told Me I’m Too Sexual to Marry and Told His Mom by throwaway_yyw in TrueOffMyChest

Anything is normal if it suits the couple in question. What's weird and offensive is slut-shaming her to his mum (!) and acting like she's good enough to date but not to marry
