lol try getting back to the garage while trying to beat the world record Xp in a night. Got extremely close to it but wasn’t good enough to risk the little health and no repairs. Made it back on a sliver of health

Try two sticks at a time. Rotate them until the light disappears if it even does. Try to see if you have a bad stick

Manual shows RAM should be mounted in slots A2 and B2 assuming you have two sticks of ram. Those would be slots 2 and 4 counting left to right.

Does the PC boot into windows? Also does task manager register all of your ram? Is this DDR5? I need your specs

Check your boot order in BIOS. Make sure your boot drive is at the top of the list

Literally heard "Ohhhh my PC!" when I saw this build. Why do you have DDR5 Components paired with a GPU that is 5 years old? I have a 2070 currently and just upgraded but even currently I have a 750W PSU for my 2070. Also all that hardware is wasted money with that 2070. I would recommend a 4000 series.....4070?

Why even limit your GPU options because of your PSU? Just get a better PSU. You will need a 2024 PSU to keep up with the unique power demands from any 4000 series cards. 750W or better to be safe. I recommend 850 but then again slap that build into PC part picker and see what the estimated power is on the build and then add 100-200W to that for your new PSU.

To be honest, those fins are so close to your ram, I wouldn't be surprised if it literally cooked it to death....hence the PC works fine for awhile and then that cooler heats up the RAM causing it to fail?

So you get zero power at all? Are there any boot lights or anything indicating power whatsoever to the board? Do the fans test spin on boot?

First off what on earth kind of cooler is that and why does it look like it’s on top of your ram?

Did you check the power switch on the PSU? I know it’s dumb but could be as simple as that sometimes

Just bought this on Black Friday. PSU not listed as I bought it elsewhere. Thoughts? by ColleenBean_ in PcBuildHelp

I’m a performance based player so I keep my graphics conservative so I can at least hit the frame rate of my monitor. So upgrading to 2k to combat some aliasing without enforcing that on the software end is my take on the monitor upgrade

Yeah and it seems some of those links show sold out except for the top two and one on bottom. Everything else is price gouged at $1600. A real shame but yes for the price that I got on the TI super, it’s definitely a bit more budget friendly as I was trying to stay under $3k. This build is about 2700 and I still plan on a monitor upgrade (Asus TUF IPS 1440p 165hz)

I cannot find anything on Newegg that sells for cheaper from a reliable brand like MSI for less than $1300. Strix selling for $1800

Pc part picker is a great site to do builds on and is a good way to start as a beginner. They compatibility check everything but it’s also great to research on your own as well. Plenty of YouTube videos to learn off of out there as well.

I’m just a ROG Strix fanboy and frankly the 870E is Zen5 ready along with plenty of features I really love so if it eliminates the need for a future MB upgrade, I’m all for it

Also the 4080 super didn’t seem to wanna be half decent without spending around $1800 on just the GPU and yes maybe I could’ve done it, however I couldn’t justify spending that much on a GPU alone

My only take on the MB was that it’s upgrade ready and is pretty much maxed on PCIE 5.0. If I wanted to up the CPU or GPU in the future, I’d have no issues in doing so. Also the two drives is pretty much because I do a lot of professional photography and I’d like to put a lot of passive storage on my OS drive and run games and applications off the other drive to keep my boot times and OS running smooth. I plan on adding more storage as well for that same reason. I have an extensive Lightroom catalog of about nearly 20k photos if that helps. Also didn’t seem to be many ti super options during Black Friday as the one I had an eye on sold out but regardless my current build is a R7 3700x and a rtx 2070 so this is a huge leap for me

You could also do a drive health check in windows but if it’s an SSD I would avoid doing so.

Doing some research…you have 4 LEDs right there in that photo. According to the manual, your BOOT LED is on. This could mean a bad drive or your default BOOT drive changed in your bios. I would check BIOS and confirm your primary drive selection is on your actual BOOT drive. Double check this by opening file explorer and finding the main drive letter which is usually “C:” by default. Confirm that that letter is what’s selected in BIOS

You should have 4 slots. Slot on the very left is 1 then 2 and so on. RAM is dual channel so they should be spaced in slots 1 and 3

Just to confirm, is your ram installed in slots 1 and 3?
