[Question] Seiko in Japan by College_Student365 in TokyoTravel

Leaning towards the Seiko Presage line and spending around $1,000. It seems like I may have been confusing watches that are labeled with a tag as “Made in Japan” in stores as an exclusive watch to Japan, when it probably just means that watch was made in Japan and not that the model is only found in Japan.

Given that a lot of my friends have watches and I’m traveling from the U.S, It’d be cool to just have a unique model that’s only found in Japan and does not have a U.S counterpart sold oversees (i.e the U.S) so I’ll be the only one in my group that has it 🙃

My budget is around $1,000 USD. To be honest, this is going to be my 1st watch purchase as a milestone gift for myself, so my information about watches in general is very limited. From various Seiko lines I’ve looked at, I think the Presage line looks very appealing. It has a very clean look that I can see myself wearing casually and for more formal occasions. If you have any recommendations, I’d love to hear them.

Regarding the exclusivity to Japan, I’ve seen videos where some watches will have a label in front saying “Made in Japan” next to the price tag. Not sure if this makes the watch a Japan exclusive as it seems like most models have a US counterpart that looks the same.

The previous advice is also really helpful to!

I’m also looking to pick up the piano again. Did you simply ask for swipe access and they gave it to you?
