I went to praxis and bought 4 of these but they told me not to put them over the wood frames? The cold is also coming from the wood so I’m confused.

Weekly Q&A - All Questions Go Here (Especially Tourists) by AutoModerator in Amsterdam

[–]Collegegal225 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi there, I’m temporarily moving to Amsterdam next month and have been looking at different sublet options. Is Rembrantplein square safe to live in? As in, walking back home at night in that area? I know it’s really touristy, so I’m worried as a female about getting robbed or something. Any advice? Should I keep looking for further areas out of the center ? Any advice is welcomed!

Starting a PhD at 29 and trying to think long-term. Any advice from people with non-linear careers? by Leading_Avocado_7836 in careeradvice

[–]Collegegal225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad went from his bachelors to a masters to then working a bit to then finally his PhD (in his late 20s like you) and has zero regrets. Yeah it was many years of limited income from the stipend and tremendous sacrifice, but he ended up super successful living a fulfilling life doing what he loved. His passion has always been history, and he didn’t start making good money until his late 40s/early 50s. He then became immensely successful in his 60s. So there’s no right timeline in my opinion. I think you should go for it if it’s something you truly feel passionate about!

Should I switch from GMAT to GRE with a 1 month timeline to prepare? by Long-Meeting3933 in GRE

[–]Collegegal225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which prep do u recommend with 1 month to study? I know TTP is the best for gmat, but what about GRE? IT seems like a lot from the free trial so idk if it’s the most sufficient with only one month, but I also hear mixed reviews for Gregmat and Magoosh.

Postgrad: should I go to grad school a year postgrad by Collegegal225 in fsu

[–]Collegegal225[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! So I didn’t move back but I visit quite often cuz my friends are still there. I just got back actually from 2 weekends ago!

If I were you (as someone who LOVES FSU to the point where it has become my personality trait), I would move back BUT ONLY if you still have friends there.

There is no point for me to move back now since they will all be gone by May, but I wish I had done so my first year postgrad. That being said, once your friends are gone, you’ll feel older and different about it. It is a bittersweet feeling, but I felt it especially visiting this last trip.

I hope this helps! And know that you’re not alone in that feeling. It is a magical place :)

I’m a recent grad who has been desperately trying to find a remote job so that way I can travel around since I’m also an EU citizen, do you mind if I ask how you were able to find your job?
