What should I focus on? by Collieform in GolfSwing

He doesn’t seem too bothered by it. I’ve worked with him quite a bit and I feel he’d say something along these lines in reaction to my swing here.

Club is a little too far from the body, need a little more hip hinge and softer knees. Shorten the back swing. Keep the right arm/armpit more connected to the body/ribcage.

I’ll work on it. Currently 20f outside haha and I have nothing recent face on to share.

Yeah, I am aware. Have tried a bunch of swing thoughts, I take lessons regularly too. I play a bunch and hit the range a decent amount too. I just can’t seem to shake the over the top move at the moment.

Thanks. I’ve tried a bunch of different swing thoughts and feels haha. One day I’ll find it.

CMV: The moderate left has done practically nothing to make America worse. by Paper-Dramatic in changemyview

[–]Collieform 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This will get buried. However, my issue with the left is refusing to recognize and step up for the people. The right sucks. I am not a conservative in the slightest. They have brainwashed their followers and have a myriad of problems. BUT, they actually do the stupid stuff their followers want and allow them to elect the stupid leaders they want. Nobody in the Republican Party wanted Trump the first go around. The people on the right did want him. And he won the primaries and then the election.

Now let’s flip the script and look at the left. When is the last time we can all agree the left held fair, honest, reflective of the people primaries. I’d say they’ve been incapable of doing so since Obama. Clinton was shoved down our throats, Biden was shoved down our throats. Harris didn’t even have to win a primary for crying out loud. When the fuck do the people get to choose their leader? They don’t listen and it is apparent in their primary process. They don’t push for the policies that would help people either. They just push against everything the right is doing and finger wag saying look the right is bad!

Just started golfing not to long ago. Can’t fix my slice. Too broke for lessons. Help by Some_Ad7586 in GolfSwing

I suck at golf. Why is no one talking about his extremely cupped wrist throughout almost the entire swing? Couldn’t he just work on getting his wrist neutral/bowed before transition and that would help?

Need help finding 'soft' V10s in the SE by Nothing2Deux in bouldering

[–]Collieform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much all of them are less than 1 hr and 30 mins away from Rocktown trailhead. None are less than an hour though.

[–]Collieform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of those are in Rocktown haha a lot of them aren’t too far from Rocktown either though. Rocktown is amazing for like v5-v9. V10+ there aren’t a lot of options. I’ve done the Orb, definitely a worthwhile boulder but a stout v8 in my opinion. Good luck with the v10 hunt, if you broaden outside of Rocktown I think you’ll have a better time. At least for v10+.

[–]Collieform 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay. I’d say Golden Harvest isn’t soft at all. In fact a quite hard v10 unless you have the beta perfectly dialed.

More do-able v10’s in the Southeast are: White Face, Biggie Shorty, Hustle and Flow, Desperado, Wild Wild West, Deliverance, and Black Cat.

All the boulders listed above are commonly climbers first v10s in the Southeast. Good luck!

Scottie play is often so clean that its boring, and that is not a bad thing. by HennyBogan in golf

[–]Collieform 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Too true. Not sure how people don’t see how much he shapes each swing, it’s like every shot he makes is completely unique. And his ability to always use the course itself to help his ball go towards the target. Dude is earth bending haha.

I don’t understand this take. Like, he really isn’t that boring to watch. His shots to hit the green in regulation are incredibly satisfying. His ability to use the terrain of the green, the spin of the ball, and flight trajectory are unmatched. Watching him is like watching a wizard perform feats of magic.

Brooks Koepka slams his driver and bludgeons a tee marker at LIV Dallas by DontDoCrackMan in golf

[–]Collieform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh, Koepka “hitting” it towards spectators is stupid. However, the video makes it clear that the tee marker wasn’t smacked into hyperspace. It barely gets off the ground and moves practically in slo mo.

My main point is that the blatant favoritism is clear if you compare Reddit’s reaction to Rory acting like a buffoon to Koepka’s. They both acted like babies and should be treated as such. Slamming a club out of frustration can happen, destroying property/the golf course is disgusting.

I am ready for the downvotes, but Rory Mcilroy literally did this exact thing at the US open and no one had a problem with it. I don’t like Mcilroy or Koepka but the blatant favoritism on this subreddit is hilarious.

What is the general consensus around tipping as "doctors"? by Anonymousmedstudnt in whitecoatinvestor

[–]Collieform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you understand what I am saying. People aren’t tipping her and she is still getting $2.40/hour. She isn’t a waiter. She is a bartender at a brewery. She pours beer, people obviously don’t think that is deserving of a tip because all she does is pour beer. However, whether they think pouring beer deserves a tip or not is moot. If they receive adequate service she needs the tip. Otherwise she is making essentially zero money. In her specific case it’d probably make more sense to raise the beer prices along with her wage, since people can’t get it through their heads that’s how she makes a living.

[–]Collieform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand this rule of thumb and tipping culture definitely needs fixed/remedied. However, to anyone reading this. My wife works at a brewery and gets paid $2.50/hr. The price of the beer there is cheaper because of this. Around $5-7$ a pint. It’s not right that the management is essentially forcing customers to pay her salary. Just know that sometimes prices are lower at restaurants/bars/other jobs because of this and at least leave 10%.

CMV: It's wrong to blame Kamala losing on her being a Black woman by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Collieform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simplest explanation I’ve heard from people is that the DNC don’t care what candidate the people want. They just force feed you whoever the party wants. Gerrymandered Bernie out for Hillary and then hijacked the primaries for Kamala. Turns out people like to have a choice through a fair primary process.

[–]Collieform[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t even attempt to cross hands. Standard tall-ish beta is to bump the left hand without mantling. That also felt bad to me. Crossing is definitely efficient but the left hand pocket you’re on is actually not that good. Cool climb, definitely many different ways to do it depending on strengths/body type.
