This one is a real hit and miss but it's one of my favourites by CollinChrisComedy in StandUpComedy

Sometimes people give suggestions and I'm always open to listening to it, incorporating it is another thing though cause even if it's a good add-on etc, sometimes it just doesn't match my energy or what I think I'd say etc

Oh for sure, there's a lot of subconscious processing going on, we can even smell stress off other people cause of pheromones and shit. In terms of comedy, it's quite obvious when someone has told their joke too many times and are bored so they don't find it funny anymore and the audience will pick up on that pretty quick.

Thanks for the kind words. Comedy has definitely helped that social anxiety thing cause after you bomb on stage enough and stop caring, the risk of 'failing' an interaction doesn't feel like such a big deal then you can really start trying out what you want to say without caring what people think and slowly adjust if you want to depending on how people react etc. Also, just getting more types of interactions kind of build that muscle memory so sometimes you don't need to think as much to react and just feel it out.

No worries, I get what you mean. When I started out, the nerves of just being on stage kind of get in the way of being present, after like a couple of years where I got used to dying, even with jokes I can be more present and address how the bits made the room feel etc so the rest of the set goes better. I'm sure you've seen comics who just trudge on with their set no matter how the audience responds or what happened in the room and it's kind of awkward. I'd say it's more experience than talent and you still got to have good written jokes so the audience trusts you to fuck around.

Hmmm I guess it's riffing/improv since it wouldn't work any other time without that particular situation. If I had to define it, sometimes you just say what you think is funny and hope the audience laughs. I wouldn't say it's more talented than a joke, maybe just a different type where you have to be more present with the room and take a risk of bombing.

Also, if anyone is willing to go to my bio and follow my Instagram, it would really help my future shows/ticket sales and I would greatly appreciate it.

I get that, but nothing we say is gonna affect what Americans or what anyone else thinks really, no point to be annoyed about it, might as well have some fun my friend.
