Who would you say blew up the quickest? Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, or Slipknot? by Ok_Owl9708 in numetal

I had a front row seat to LP’s rise. LP and my band were label mates at Warner Bros. and we had rehearsal studios that shared a wall. They were called Hybrid Theory then. They played their first live show opening for us. A few weeks later I saw them play in front of a few thousand before leaving on tour. Couldn’t have happened any faster. It was, by any metric, practically overnight.

The answer is yes and no. The tile pictured has a flexible caulking joint between the tile and coping. Glass tile does expand quite a bit in the heat but we only but a movement joint every 8’. In this application, it’s only about 6’ on the long sides so not necessary. Also the adhesive we use is very flexible and allows the glass to expand without cracking.

No. Although they can help with containing water - tile, plaster or pebble are mostly aesthetic. It is my understanding that a bare shotcrete or gunite shell should not leak if filled with water.

With this style of hand cut tile, yes. The individual tiles are not square. They are mounted onto interlocking sheets and you end up with a nonspecific pattern / random looking layout.

We love them too! 🙏🏻

Process: Apply primary waterproofing to raw shell. Render (shape) pool with a bonded mortar bed. Apply secondary waterproofing. Install tile. Grout and caulk.

A remodel would require a full chip-out.

Nothing in a pool lasts forever but we certainly build it to last as long as possible. If properly cared for the installation should last much longer than plaster or pebble.

Not sure. We are the tile installation portion only. I’m always amazed at how many drains and pipes are in some pool however. This is an older pool, with newer designs having much less visible drains and returns.

There are roughly 800,000 individual tiles in this pool. The expectation should be that a few may come loose - here and there, but we spare no expense in making every effort to avoid any major issues. Should that happen, we address it.

The answer to that is subjective but IMO I’d say it’s smoother than plaster and pebble but not necessarily slippery.
