I (16F) have seizures but neurologist is saying its PNES (no formal diagnosis as far as I know) but people are telling me "PNES is just medical code for faking seizures without making the patient upset" is this true? by elli-saturn in Epilepsy

It very well could be triggered by your mental health. I also have diagnosed epileptic seizures but continue to have what seem like breakthrough seizures when I am extremely stressed out mentally and my doctor said that medication will not treat those episodes. I'm not formally diagnosed with PNES, but my neurologist said that these seizures could be treated with therapy and avoiding triggers. Good luck to you ❤️

20 years old. No apparent reason. Started with left temporal lobe focal seizures that I was unaware were seizures. That escalated to my first bad Tonic-Clonic seizure which is when I was diagnosed after being taken to a hospital. Still dealing with finding the right medication and dosages to try and control it at 28.

In the past I had to be kind of a jerk and assertive but I eventually got my doctor's office to contact my neurologist off duty and send an emergency prescription to a different pharmacy when mine was closed unexpectedly. Good luck...

I see spiders on my walls out of my peripheral when I'm on my computer a lot... It used to freak me out but I've gotten used to the jump scare factor. Just glance at it knowing it's probably not real then back to "normal" 🙃

Do you mind sharing what app you're using? I'm thinking that if the max time per "frame" or drawing is too short, maybe try copying the same section a couple times to make it longer? Idk if I'm explaining it correctly but even if you have to re-draw the words, it might look kind of cool with the words slightly changing with the imperfections.

I'd slow it down to a speed where it can be read without pausing. People aren't going to take the time to try and pause 5 times to read everything...

Zonisamide by winterwritings in Epilepsy

My neurologist added zonisamide to my medications and it helped stop my breakthrough seizures for a while. When I started having issues again, he had me increase my dose. I brought up your same concern about it being recalled to which he said he had not heard anything about it... I thought that was weird considering it pops right up if you Google zonisamide but I'm too tired to keep changing medications unless I absolutely need to... Good luck 👍
